Carlos Muñoz (racing Driver)
Carlos Andrés Muñoz (born 2 January 1992) is a professional racing driver from Colombia. He last drove for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports part-time in the IndyCar Series in 2018. He has twice finished second in the Indianapolis 500, during his rookie year in 2013 and in 2016. Career Karting Born in Bogotá, Muñoz began his motorsport career in karting back in 2002. Formula TR Pro Series FR 1600 In 2007, just fifteen years old, Muñoz made his debut in single-seaters, racing in the Formula TR Pro Series. He took one podium place in four races to end the season in eighth place. Formula Renault In 2008, Muñoz took part in both the Italian Formula Renault 2.0 and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championships, racing for Prema Powerteam. Silverstone Circuit
Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Towcester, Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix. The 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone was the first race in the newly created World Championship of Drivers. The race rotated between Silverstone, Aintree and Brands Hatch from 1955 to 1986, but settled permanently at the Silverstone track in 1987. The circuit also hosts the British round of the MotoGP series. 2013 Indy Lights Season
The 2013 Indy Lights season was a season of open wheel motor racing. It was the 28th season of the series and the twelfth sanctioned by IndyCar, acting as the primary support series for the IZOD IndyCar Series. It began March 24, 2013 in St. Petersburg. Rookie Sage Karam won the championship, the eighth rookie to win the series title. Karam clinched the championship in the final race over rookie teammate Gabby Chaves. Second-year driver Carlos Muñoz won a series-high four races but was forced to settle for third in the championship. Peter Dempsey captured the Freedom 100 in a spectacular four-wide finish in what was the closest finish in Indianapolis Motor Speedway history. Schmidt Peterson Motorsports
The IndyCar Series operation of McLaren Racing competes under the banner of Arrow McLaren SP. This entry is based in Indianapolis and was founded by former driver Sam Schmidt as Sam Schmidt Motorsports. Fellow ex-driver Davey Hamilton joined as co-owner from 2011–2012 to form Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports. Canadian businessman Ric Peterson joined in 2013 to form Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. In 2019, primary sponsor Arrow Electronics became the title sponsor for the team, resulting in the Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports banner for that year. Indianapolis 500 Rookie Of The Year
The Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year is an annual award "presented to the driver who has performed with the most distinction among first-year drivers in the Indianapolis 500." Criteria includes "on-track performance in practice, qualifying and the race, media and fan interaction, sportsmanship and positive influence on the Indy 500." Sportsmanship is a drivers' relationship to fellow racers and fans, and media interaction is their availability to spectators and the press during the event. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) guidelines encourage balloters to consider all the criteria "as the same as any other." Leeway is provided to competitors who outperform in their equipment during qualifying and the race, and those who led laps but retired. 2009 European F3 Open Season
The 2009 European F3 Open Championship was the first season with the new championship denomination after eight seasons of the Spanish Formula Three Championship. It began on 2 May 2009 in Valencia and will end on 1 November in Montmeló after 16 rounds in five different countries. The main Class A title was claimed by Bruno Méndez, holding off Celso Míguez by just two points. Callum MacLeod won the secondary Copa F306/300, as well as finishing ninth in the overall championship.
