The 2008–09 season in Hong Kong football, starting July 2008 and ending June 2009: Overview Events On 9 July 2008, South China goalkeeper Zhang Chunhui was sentenced imprisonment for 8 months due to inflicting grievous bodily harm upon another person. He injured a 17-year-old boy in Causeway Bay on 19 December 2007. On 22 July 2008, HKFA confirmed the Hong Kong First Division League team list for 2008-09 season. 13 teams will compete in the top division, among which TSW Pegasus and Xiangxue Eisiti will enter using competing membership, and they will need to sponsor one local cup competition each. South China AA
South China Athletic Association (known simply as South China, SCAA, ) is a Hong Kong professional football club that competes in the Hong Kong First Division, the second-tier league in Hong Kong football league system. The club is historically one of the most successful football clubs in Hong Kong, having won a record 41 First Division titles, a record 31 Senior Shields, a record 10 FA Cups and 3 League Cups. The club has a very long history in playing in the top-tier league, but decided to self-relegate after the end of the 2016–17 season. IEK ( gr, ΙΕΚ) is a Greek abbreviation name for the (Institute of Vocational Training). IEK was established in 1992 as a type of educational institution specifically to provide adult vocational education and training (VET) at the post-secondary education level (Greek: ) considered to be a body of "non-formal education" (). Shi Liang (footballer)
Shi Liang (; born 11 May 1989) is a Chinese football player who currently plays for Meizhou Kejia in the Chinese Super League. Club career Shi started his professional career with China League Two side Guangdong Sunray Cave in the 2007 league season. He scored one goal in four appearances as Guangdong Sunray Cave won promotion to the second tier at the end of the 2008 season. The following season he would help establish the club in the division and go on to be their top goalscorer with eight goals. In February 2013, Shi moved to Chinese Super League side Guizhou Renhe on a free transfer. He would go on to make his debut for the club on 8 March 2013 in a league game against Qingdao Jonoon F.C. in a 2-1 defeat. The Hong Kong national football team () represents Hong Kong in international association football, football and is controlled by the Hong Kong Football Association, the governing body for football in Hong Kong. Bhaichung Bhutia (born 15 December 1976), also spelled as Baichung Bhutia, is an Indian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Ng Wai Chiu (born 22 October 1981 in Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong former professional footballer. He was capped for Hong Kong at various youth levels, as well as the senior national team. He is currently the assistant manager of Chinese Super League club Dalian Professional. Early life Ng Wai Chiu's father Ng Chi Ying was also a footballer for Guangdong. Au Yeung Yiu Chung (born 11 July 1989 in Hong Kong), commonly known as Au Chung, is a Hong Kong professional footballer who currently plays for J3 League club Iwate Grulla Morioka.
