2007–08 Marquette Golden Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team represented Marquette University in the 2007–08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Eagles, led by ninth-year head coach Tom Crean (basketball), Tom Crean, played their home games at the Bradley Center as members of the Big East Conference. They beat 2007–08 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team, Kentucky in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament, then lost to 2007–08 Stanford Cardinal men's basketball team, Stanford. Big East Conference (1979–2013)
The Big East Conference was a collegiate athletics conference that consisted of as many as 16 universities in the eastern half of the United States from 1979 to 2013. The conference's members participated in 24 NCAA sports. The conference had a history of success at the national level in basketball throughout its history, while its shorter (1991 to 2013) football program, created by inviting one college and four other "associate members" (their football programs only) into the conference, resulted in two national championships. In basketball, Big East teams made 18 Final Four appearances and won 7 NCAA championships as Big East members through 2013 (UConn with three, Georgetown, Syracuse, Louisville and Villanova with one each). Blair Academy is a coeducational, boarding and day school for students in high school. The school serves students from ninth through twelfth grades as well as a small post-graduate class. The school's campus is located on a campus in Blairstown Township in Warren County, New Jersey, approximately west of New York City. Vel Phillips Memorial High School is a public high school in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1966 and is part of the Madison Metropolitan School District. Carbondale Community High School is a public high school located in Carbondale, Illinois, United States.
