The Royal World Weightlifting Championships 2007 were held at the 700th Anniversary Sports Complex in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The event took place from September 17 to September 26, 2007. Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai (, from th, เชียงใหม่ , nod, , เจียงใหม่ ), sometimes written as Chiengmai or Chiangmai, is the largest city in northern Thailand, the capital of Chiang Mai province and the second largest city in Thailand. It is north of Bangkok in a mountainous region called the Thai highlands and has a population of 1.19 million people as of 2022, which is more than 66 percent of the total population of Chiang Mai province (1.8 million). Kim Chol-jin ( ko, 김철진; born October 31, 1978) is a North Korean weightlifter and Merited Athlete. Kim represented North Korea at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the men's lightweight category (69 kg). Vadzim Straltsou
Vadzim Mikalayevich Straltsou ( be, Вадзім Мікалаевіч Стральцоў; Łacinka: Vadzim Mikałajevič Stralcoŭ; born 30 April 1986) is a Belarusian weightlifter. Competing in men's 94 kg, he is the 2015 World champion and 2016 Olympic silver medalist. Career In 2006, Straltsou dominated the 85 kg class by winning the gold medal at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Hangzhou, China. He took bronze at the 2007 World Championships in Chiang Mai. Straltsou represented Belarus at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, competing in the men's light heavyweight category along with his compatriot Andrei Rybakou, who eventually won the silver medal. Andrei Rybakou ( be, Андрэй Анатолевіч Рыбакоў) (born March 4, 1982) is a former Belarusian weightlifter, Olympian and two-time World Champion who competed in the 85 kg category. Ivan Stoitsov (Иван Стоицов, born in Plovdiv) is a Bulgarian male weightlifter, competing in the 77 kg category and representing Bulgaria at international competitions. Oleg Perepetchenov (born September 6, 1975) is a Russian powerlifter and former weightlifter. In the 2001 and 2002 World Weightlifting Championships, Perepetchenov won the silver medal in the Men's 77 kg weight category. Perepetchenov competed in the Men's 77 kg at the 2004 Summer Olympics and won the bronze medal, lifting 365.0 kg in total.
