The 2007 Oregon State Beavers baseball team represented Oregon State University in the 2007 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Beavers played their home games at Goss Stadium. The team was coached by Pat Casey in his 13th season at Oregon State. The Beavers won the College World Series, defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels in the championship series, for the second consecutive year. Pat Casey (baseball)
Patrick Michael Casey (born March 17, 1959) is an American college baseball coach who was the head coach for the Oregon State Beavers baseball team. He is best known for winning the 2006 College World Series for the Beavers' first-ever baseball National Championship. The following year, he led the Beavers to a repeat championship in the 2007 College World Series, the first unranked team in history to accomplish this feat. He retired from Oregon State after winning his third championship in the 2018 College World Series. Playing career A three-sport athlete at Newberg High School, Casey attended the University of Portland where he played baseball as well as basketball. In baseball, he was named to the All-Pac-10 Conference Northern Division first team in 1979 and 1980, and was drafted in the 10th round by the San Diego Padres in the 1980 Major League Baseball draft. Joe Etzel Field
Joe Etzel Field is a 1,300 seat baseball stadium in Portland, Oregon that is home to the University of Portland Pilots baseball team. Originally named Pilot Field, it was renamed after former coach Joe Etzel in 2004. Completed in 2005, the Andy Pienovi Hitting Facility is the baseball team's practice facility. It is located in foul territory in left field. Preliminary campus expansion plans include moving the baseball field from its current location to one down on the waterfront in the Triangle Park property. Those plans were abandoned in 2013 with plans to instead renovate the existing stadium. The school has since added artificial turf and lighting. The first game played on this field was on February 23, 1988 vs. George Fox University in a 15-1 win. Jerry Kindall Field at Frank Sancet Stadium was a college baseball park in the southwestern United States, located on the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to 2012, it was the home field of the Arizona Wildcats of the Pac-10 Conference. Opened in 1967 and originally called "Wildcat Field," the venue was named after Frank Sancet (head coach from 1950 to 1972) in 1986, and was renamed in 2004 to include former head coach Jerry Kindall. Since 2012, the Wildcat baseball team has played at Hi Corbett Field, a former spring training facility located about southeast of campus. 2007 Arizona Wildcats Baseball Team
The 2007 Arizona Wildcats baseball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2007 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats played their home games at Jerry Kindall Field at Frank Sancet Stadium. The team was coached by Andy Lopez in his 6th season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished with a record of 42-17 (15-9 Conf.) and were selected to the NCAA tournament for the 4th time under Andy Lopez's leadership, losing in the Wichita Regional final to Wichita State. Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park is a baseball stadium in College Station, Texas, that is home to the Texas A&M baseball program. The stadium was dedicated on March 21, 1978, and is named in honor of C. E. "Pat" Olsen, a 1923 graduate of Texas A&M University and a former baseball player in the New York Yankees farm system. Olsen Field has served as an NCAA regional site five times and had its 1999 regional attendance ranked second with 53,287. The first NCAA Regional Tournament held at Olsen Field was in 1989. 2007 Arizona State Sun Devils Baseball Team
The 2007 Arizona State Sun Devils baseball team represented Arizona State University in the 2007 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Sun Devils played their home games at Packard Stadium, and played as part of the Pacific-10 Conference. The team was coached by Pat Murphy in his thirteenth season as head coach at Arizona State. The Sun Devils reached the College World Series, their twentieth appearance in Omaha, where they finished tied for fifth place after recording a win against and losing two eventual champion Oregon State and UC Irvine. On December 15, 2010, Arizona State vacated 44 wins, their Pac-12 title, and postseason appearance due to recruiting violations. Arizona State was banned from the 2011 postseason as well.
