The 2006–07 season is the 104th competitive season in Belgian football. Overview Following promotion from the Belgian Second Division, Mons have returned to the Belgian First Division immediately after dropping to the second division during the 2004–2005 season. La Louvière has dropped from the first division after finishing last, they were also refused a licence which caused them to drop two levels and so they now play in the Belgian Third Division. July * July 13, 2006 – Roeselare is the first Belgian team to compete in Europe this season as they take part in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.
