2006 Rink Hockey European Championship
The 2006 Rink Hockey European Championship was the 47th edition of the Rink Hockey European Championship, the biennial European rink hockey competition. The competition took place in Monza, Italy in the Pallazo dello Sport, also known as Pala Candy, from July 16 to July 22. Spain won the competition for the 13th time, beating Switzerland 2–0 in the final. Portugal took the 3rd place after beating 5-4 the hosts, Italy. This competition was part of the Euro Roller Games 2006, that also featured the European Championships of roller skating and artistic roller skating. Format There are 3 groups of 3 teams in Phase I. Each team plays each other within the group and all teams but the worse 3rd place of all groups will go into the quarter-finals. Then, the losers and the team who didn't go to the quarter-finals will play a Poule for the 5th to 9th position. Follonica Hockey or Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Follonica Hockey is a roller hockey team from Follonica, Italy. It was established in 1952. History Merged in 1962 with another team belonging to the same town, Follonica Hockey made their debut in the Serie A italian championship in 1962. After alternating during several seasons the first and second tiers, in the 1970s the club consolidates in the top league and wins their first national cup in 1977 and five years later the second one. Ricardo Barreiros
Ricardo Jorge Silva Barreiros (born Sintra, 17 January 1982) is a Portuguese roller hockey player. He plays as a midfielder and as a forward. He's considered one of the best roller hockey players of nowadays. Career Barreiros played first at CD Paço d'Arcos, being promoted to the first category in 2001/02. He was assigned for Benfica for the season of 2004/2005. He played four seasons for the "Eagles" rink hockey team but never won the National Championship. He moved to Liceo da Coruña, in Spain, where he played from 2009/10 to 2011/12. Barreiros returned to Portugal to play for FC Porto in 2012/13. Barreiros is a usual player for Portugal, having his first game in 2003. Reinaldo Ventura
Reinaldo Miguel Silva Ventura (born 16 May 1978 in Vila Nova de Gaia) is a Portuguese roller hockey player. Renowned as a prolific goalscorer with a strong middle-distance shot, he is capable of occupying both the midfielder or the forward position in a roller rink surface. Ventura was a leading name for FC Porto, winning a combined total of 31 national titles and 1 CERS Cup during his 26 years spell with the club. From 1997 to 2012 he was a main player in the Portugal national roller hockey team. He was a member of the squad that won the Rink Hockey World Championship, in 2003. Ventura was the captain at the 2008 Rink Hockey European Championship, where Portugal was runners-up. The national flag of Portugal ( pt, Bandeira de Portugal) is a rectangular bicolour with a field divided into green on the hoist, and red on the fly.
