2006 MLS SuperDraft
The 2006 MLS SuperDraft, held in Philadelphia on January 20, 2006, was the seventh incarnation of the annual Major League Soccer SuperDraft. The first selection originally belonged to Chivas USA, but they traded it to the MetroStars for the fifth overall selection and Jason Hernandez. The MetroStars then drafted Marvell Wynne. The draft was followed by the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft. The draft has produced multiple United States men's national soccer team players, including Sacha Kljestan, Jozy Altidore (2nd round), and Jonathan Bornstein (4th round). Jonathan Bornstein
Jonathan Rey Bornstein (born November 7, 1984) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back. He has captained and made 38 appearances for the United States national team. In addition to also playing for Chivas USA in Major League Soccer (with whom he was the 2006 MLS Rookie of the Year, an MLS Best XI, and a two-time MLS All-Star), he has played in Liga MX and in the Israeli Premier League. He won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2005 Maccabiah Games, in Israel. Youth and college Bornstein attended Los Alamitos High School, where he played soccer for all four years. Dax McCarty
Michael Dax McCarty (born April 30, 1987) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Nashville SC in Major League Soccer. Early career McCarty was raised in Winter Park, Florida and attended Winter Park High School. During his early years, McCarty was a member of the United States Soccer Residency program and attended the Edison Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He was also a member of the Ajax Orlando Prospects in the USL Premier Development League the summer after his freshman year in college. Yura Movsisyan ( hy, Յուրա Մովսիսյան; born 2 August 1987) is an Armenian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Most notably, Movsisyan played for Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League. He played for the Armenia national football team, ending his career with 14 goals in 38 international games. The Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team represents the University of Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college soccer competition. Jason Garey (born July 19, 1984) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and College Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Garey, who grew up in Gonzales, Louisiana, attended St. Amant High School and played for the Baton Rouge Soccer Club. He continues to hold Louisiana high school records for most goals in a season (73) and in a career (170). Garey played college soccer at the University of Maryland. In his senior season, he scored 22 goals in 25 games, was named a first-team All-American, won the Hermann Trophy as the best college player, and led the Terrapins to the College Cup. Santa Clara Broncos Men's Soccer
The Santa Clara Broncos men's soccer program represents Santa Clara University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. Founded in 1967, the Broncos compete in the West Coast Conference. The Broncos are coached by Cameron Rast, who has coached the program since 2002. Mehdi Ballouchy ( ar, مهدي بلوشي; born April 6, 1983) is a retired Moroccan professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently one of the coaching staff for New York City FC.
