2006 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2006 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships were held in Prague, Czech Republic between 2-6 August 2006 under the auspices of International Canoe Federation at the Prague-Troja Canoeing Centre. It was the 30th edition. Prague became the second city to host both the slalom and sprint world championships, having hosted the latter in 1958 when Prague was part of Czechoslovakia. Prague

Jan Benzien
Jan Benzien (born 22 July 1982) is a German slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1999. Benzien started out as a C1 paddler. Since 2012 he has also been competing in C2, teaming up with Franz Anton. He won eleven medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with two golds (C1 team: 2006, C2: 2015), eight silvers (C1: 2002; C1 team: 2002, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013; C2 team: 2015), and a bronze (C1: 2009). He won additional 16 medals at the European Championships (3 golds, 7 silvers, and 6 bronzes). Benzien competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the C1 event, he finished second in the qualification round, thus progressing to the semifinals. In the semifinals, Benzien finished twelfth, failing to reach the top eight and the final round. Tomáš Máder
Tomáš Máder () (born 18 April 1974 in Prague) is a Czech slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1992 to 2009. He won a bronze medal in the C2 event at the 2000 Summer Olympics together with Marek Jiras. They then competed at the same event at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where they finished seventh. Peter Hochschorner
Peter Hochschorner (born 7 September 1979) is a retired Slovak Canoe slalom, slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1996 to 2017. Competing together with his twin brother Pavol Hochschorner, they are the most successful C2 paddlers in the history of canoe slalom. They retired from canoe slalom in 2018 after the C2 event was discontinued and subsequently switched to wildwater canoeing. They retired from wildwater canoeing after the 2021 Wildwater Canoeing World Championships, 2021 World Championships in their hometown Bratislava. Stefan Henze (3 May 1981 – 15 August 2016) was a German slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1996 to 2011. Career Henze won a silver medal in the C2 event at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Daniel Goddard (born 1983) is a British slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1998 to 2012. Stuart McIntosh (born 8 June 1975 in London) is a British slalom canoeist who competed in the 1990s and 2000s. He won a bronze medal in the C1 team event at the 2006 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Prague and two more bronze medals at the European Championships (1 individual and 1 in team event). He won four World Cup series medals, including a silver medal at the 2004 World Cup Final in Bourg St.-Maurice, France.
