Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was a men's field lacrosse league in the United States. The league's inaugural season was in 2001. Teams played anywhere from ten to 16 games in a summertime regular season. This was followed by a four-team playoff for the championship trophy, the Steinfeld Trophy, named after founder Jake Steinfeld. League attendance peaked at 6,417 in 2011 and the 2019 average was 4,587. The Chesapeake Bayhawks and New York Lizards (originally the Baltimore Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards) were MLL members throughout its existence and competed in the first three championship games, with the Lizards winning two. The Boston Cannons, the last of the six charter franchises to remain in their original market with their original name, won their first championship in 2011. The Philadelphia Barrage returned to the league in 2020 after an 11-season hiatus. After moving from Bridgeport to Philadelphia, the Barrage won three championships in four years from 2004 to 2007. Chris Rotelli
Chris Rotelli (born December 18, 1980) is a professional lacrosse player who had a standout collegiate career at the University of Virginia before going on to the professional ranks in Major League Lacrosse. High school and collegiate career A native of Rumford, Rhode Island, Chris Rotelli played high school lacrosse at Moses Brown School, where he was a three-time high school All-American and four-time All-State selection. He then attended the University of Virginia from 2000 to 2003, where he became one of the most decorated midfielders in Cavaliers history. As a senior in 2003, Rotelli helped lead the team to the 2003 NCAA Division I National Championship. He was the team's leading scorer with 49 points and was among the ACC leaders in scoring, goals, and assists. Kevin Cassese
Kevin Cassese (born April 5, 1981) is a professional lacrosse player with the Philadelphia Barrage, and head coach of the Lehigh University men's lacrosse team. Cassese played collegiate lacrosse at Duke University, where he helped lead the Blue Devils to three NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship, NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2002, he won the McLaughlin Award as the nation's top midfielder. In 2002, Cassese played with US Lacrosse, Team USA that won the World Lacrosse Championship. In 2006, he was also a member of the Team USA, who finished in second place. Cassese played professionally with Major League Lacrosse's Rochester Rattlers from 2003 until June 29, 2007, when he was traded to the Philadelphia Barrage. Mike Springer
} Michael Paul Springer (born November 3, 1965) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Springer was born in San Francisco, California. He attended the University of Arizona. He turned pro in 1988 and joined the PGA Tour in 1991. Springer began his career in professional golf on the Ben Hogan Tour, a predecessor of what later became the Korn Ferry Tour. He won three events in this venue in 1990 (including the tour's very first event in Bakersfield) and one in 1992. His first PGA Tour win came as a wire-to-wire victory in 1994 at the KMart Greater Greensboro Open. His career year was 1994 when he won two PGA Tour events, earned $770,711, and finished 13th on the money list. Springer has 22 top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events. Adam Doneger
Adam Doneger (born December 5, 1980, in Hewlett, New York) is a former professional lacrosse player. He attended and played his college lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University where he was team Captain as a senior and a two-time First Team All-American. International career Doneger played for the 2002 U.S. Men's National Team in World Lacrosse Championship that won the Gold Medal. Professional career Doneger was a midfielder with the New Jersey Pride in Major League Lacrosse. He won the Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Year Award in 2003. Kevin Leveille
Kevin Leveille (born August 18, 1981) is an American lacrosse player from Delmar, New York. As a child, Kevin played youth hockey for the TAYHA Chiefs before finding his true calling as a lacrosse prodigy. Eventually his skills landed him on the UMass Minutemen lacrosse team, and as a senior, he was named to the All-American Team. Professional career MLL He was a member of the Rochester Rattlers in Major League Lacrosse, playing the attack position. He was traded to Rochester Rattlers before the 2006 season started, and led the team in goals during its inaugural season. Previously, Leveille had been a member of the Boston Cannons from 2003-05. In 2004 he won the Major League Lacrosse Most Improved Player of the Year Award. In 2005 he played in the MLL All Star Game. Michael Peyser (born January 7, 1981 in Lloyd Harbor, New York) is an American professional lacrosse player with the New Jersey Pride of Major League Lacrosse. He played collegiate lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University. He is a long-stick defenseman. Collegiate career Peyser was a two-time USILA All-American while playing for the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. In 2002, he was awarded an Honorable Mention All-American distinction. While in 2003, his senior season, he was awarded Second Team All-American honors. Chris Garrity (born June 18, 1981) was a professional lacrosse goaltender with the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). He retired from MLL on 19 January 2012. Coming out of high school, Chris' best sport was soccer where he excelled as a marking back. Despite being a better soccer player Chris decided to pursue lacrosse in college.
