2002–03 UEFA Champions League Knockout Stage
The knockout stage of the 2002–03 UEFA Champions League ran from 8 April 2003 until the final at the Old Trafford in Manchester, England on 28 May 2003. The knockout stage involved the eight teams who finished in the top two in each of their groups in the second group stage. Each tie in the knockout stage, apart from the final, was played over two legs, with each team playing one leg at home. The team that has the higher aggregate score over the two legs will progress to the next round. If aggregate scores finish level, the team that scored more goals away from home over the two legs will progress. If away goals are also equal, 30 minutes of extra time are played. If there are goals scored during extra time and the aggregate score is still level, the visiting team qualifies by more away goals scored. Old Trafford
Old Trafford () is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United. With a capacity of 74,310 it is the largest club football stadium (and second-largest football stadium overall after Wembley Stadium) in the United Kingdom, and the eleventh-largest in Europe. Amsterdam Arena
The Johan Cruyff Arena ( nl, Johan Cruijff Arena ; officially stylised as Johan Cruijff ArenA) is the main stadium of the Dutch capital city of Amsterdam and the home stadium of football club AFC Ajax since its opening. Built from 1993 to 1996 at a cost equivalent to €140 million, it is the largest stadium in the country. Javier Pedro Saviola Fernández (; born 11 December 1981) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a forward. Rónald Paolo Montero Iglesias (born 3 September 1971) is a Uruguayan football manager and former player, who played as a central defender or left-back and is the manager of Primavera 1 team Juventus U19. Anders Frisk (born 18 February 1963) is a Swedish insurance agent by trade and a former football referee. Frisk chose to go into early retirement from refereeing due to pressure from death threats made against him and his family. He is fluent in several languages including his native Swedish, English and German. Career Frisk was born on 18 February 1963 in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, and lives in Mölndal, his hometown, where he runs a historic cinema.
