2002 UEFA Cup Final
The 2002 UEFA Cup Final was an association football match played on 8 May 2002, between Feyenoord of the Netherlands and Borussia Dortmund of Germany at the Feijenoord Stadion in Rotterdam, Feyenoord's home ground. It was the 31st UEFA Cup final and it was also the first time that the final had been played at a finalist's home ground since the introduction of single-legged finals in the UEFA Cup in 1998. Prior to this match, Feyenoord had not won a European trophy since 1974, when they beat Tottenham Hotspur to win the UEFA Cup final four years after winning the European Cup. 1969–70 European Cup
The 1969–70 season was the 15th in the history of the European Cup, a club football tournament organised by UEFA for the domestic league champions of its member associations. It was won by Feyenoord of the Netherlands, who beat Scottish club Celtic after extra time in the final at San Siro in Milan on 6 May 1970. It was the first time the title had been won by a club from the Netherlands, and sparked a period of Dutch dominance in the competition, as Ajax won the next three titles. Heiko Herrlich
Heiko Herrlich (born 3 December 1971) is a German football manager and former player who played as a striker. He last managed FC Augsburg. Club career Herrlich played 258 matches (1989–2004) in the Bundesliga and scored 75 goals for Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund. With Borussia Dortmund he won the German championship in 1996 and 2002, the Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup in 1997. With Borussia Mönchengladbach he won the DFB-Pokal in 1995, which he had also won in 1993 with Bayer Leverkusen. In autumn 2000, it was discovered that he had a malignant brain tumor. He was successfully treated with radiation therapy and returned to Bundesliga action 2001 but was not able to return to his former glory as a player. The 2001–02 UEFA Champions League was the 47th season of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA's premier club football tournament, and the 10th since its rebranding from the "European Champion Clubs' Cup" or "European Cup".
