2001 British Formula Three Championship
The 2001 British Formula Three season was the 51st British Formula Three Championship season. It commenced on 1 April, and ended on 29 September after twenty-six races, with Japanese driver Takuma Sato crowned champion. Drivers and teams The following teams and drivers were competitors in the 2001 season. The Scholarship class is for older Formula Three cars. All cars competed on Avon tyres. The British Formula Three Championship was an international motor racing series that took place primarily in the United Kingdom with a small number of events in mainland Europe. It was a junior-level feeder formula that used small single seater Formula Three chassis. Its final official title was the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series. Alex Gurney
Alexander Gurney (born September 4, 1974) is an American racing driver who competes in the Rolex Sports Car Series for GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing. He won the 2007 and 2009 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype drivers' championship and is the son of racing legend Dan Gurney. In 2013, he came in third place with teammate Jon Fogarty. Alain Menu (born 9 August 1963) is a Swiss racing driver who is currently working for Team BMR as a driving coach. He was one of the most successful touring car drivers of the 1990s, winning the prestigious British Touring Car Championship twice (the only driver during the series' 1991–2000 Super Touring era to do so). Alan Docking Racing (ADR) is a motor racing team based in Silverstone, United Kingdom. The team was formed in 1975 by Australian Alan Docking. Sakon Yamamoto
is a Japanese racing driver turned politician. He competed in 21 Formula One Grands Prix during the , 2007 and 2010 seasons. Before Formula One Yamamoto was born in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture. Miloš Pavlović ( sr-cyrl, Милош Павловић; born 8 October 1982) is a Serbian professional racing driver. Biography Karting Pavlović was born in Belgrade. His career began in 1991 in go-karts, winning two national titles the following year. He went in 1993 to Italy, where in his very first season, Miloš became regional champion of Italy, reached second place in the Winter Cup and was very successful in a dozen other races. Bruce Jouanny (born 11 June 1978 in Paris, France) is a French racing driver. He started his career in his homeland of France, before moving on to international series. In 2000, he won his only career title to date – the Formula Palmer Audi Junior series. OAK Racing is an endurance racing team specialising in sports prototypes based in Le Mans, France. Nicolas Kiesa (born 3 March 1978) is a Danish racing driver. He participated in five Formula One Grands Prix in the 2003 season, scoring no championship points, but finishing every race. Previously, he had won the 2003 Formula 3000 race at Monaco, when Björn Wirdheim slowed on the last lap on the front straight to greet his team. He returned to Formula One in 2005, replacing Robert Doornbos as Jordan's third driver for the German Grand Prix and for the rest of the season.
