Liu Yong (badminton)
Liu Yong (; born 12 August 1975) is a former international level badminton player for China who specialized in mixed doubles. He is married to former singles player on the Chinese national badminton team Dai Yun. Career Liu Yong started badminton training when he was 8, and was taken into the Chinese National Team in 1993. He won numerous international titles in mixed doubles, the majority of them with Ge Fei. He won men's doubles at the 2002 Malaysia Open with Chen Qiqiu. In 2004, he joined the Unisys in Japan as a player and coach for the team. World Championships Liu won the 1997 IBF World Championships in mixed doubles, with Ge Fei, beating Jens Eriksen and Marlene Thomsen in the final. They also won a bronze medal at the 1999 IBF World Championships. In the next edition in 2001, Liu reached the mixed doubles quarterfinals with Cheng Jiao but lost to Michael Søgaard and Rikke Olsen. Boonsak Ponsana
Boonsak Ponsana ( th, บุญศักดิ์ พลสนะ; ; born 22 February 1982) is a Thai badminton player. His younger sister Salakjit Ponsana is also part of the Thailand badminton team. He got a Bachelor of Laws from Sri Patum. Career Ponsana competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics, but was defeated in the round of 64. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, he was defeating Chris Dednam of South Africa and Lee Hyun-il of South Korea in the first two rounds. In the quarterfinals, Ponsana defeated Ronald Susilo of Singapore 15–10, 15–1. He advanced to the semifinals, in which he lost to Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia 15–9, 15–2. Bertrand Gallet (born 24 May 1974) is a former France, French badminton player. Born in Lille, Gallet started the sport from an early age. He practiced football at the age of six, then began playing tennis and handball in Béthune. He chose to play badminton when he was 14. He went to INSEP in 17 and graduated in 2000. Nikhil Kanetkar
Nikhil Kanetkar (born 13 May 1979) is the only Olympic badminton player from Pune India. Born in a Maharashtrian family, Kanetkar played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's singles, defeating Sergio Llopis of Spain in the first round. In the round of 16, Kanetkar was defeated by Peter Gade of Denmark. In addition to Olympics, Kanetkar has represented India in the Thomas Cup, All England Open, Asian Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, SAF Games, Swiss Open, French Open, Toulouse Open and numerous other championships. Darren James Hall (born 25 October 1965) is an English retired badminton player who is generally rated as one of the best men's singles players that England has produced and holds the record of 10 National singles titles. Career Hall won a record ten English National Badminton Championships, English national singles titles from 1986 until 1999. During the 1993 championships he broke the existing record of five, set in 1981 by his cousin Ray Stevens (badminton), Ray Stevens. He is the only Englishman since the 1930s to win the prestigious Denmark Open, Danish Open (1992) in the men's singles. Hendrawan (; born 27 June 1972) is an Indonesian badminton coach and former player. Personal life Hendrawan began to play badminton at 10 years old and began his top-level career at Cipayung National Training Center. He retired from the Indonesian team in 2003. He married his longtime girlfriend, former player Silvia Anggraini, the sister of Hendra Setiawan, on January 7, 2001.
