Simon Archer (badminton)
Simon David Archer MBE (born 27 June 1973) is an English former badminton player. Archer once held the world record for the fastest smash at 162 mph. Career Summer Olympics Archer competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in doubles, with Chris Hunt. They were knocked out in the quarterfinals. In 2000 he coupled with Nathan Robertson, but they too lost in the quarterfinals, this time to Tony Gunawan and Candra Wijaya of Indonesia. However, Archer also competed in mixed doubles with Joanne Goode and won a bronze medal. Commonwealth Games He represented England and won double silver in the mixed doubles and men's doubles event and was a member of the mixed team that won the gold medal, at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada. Archer and Goode won gold medals twice at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2002. Wong Choong Hann
Wong Choong Hann (; born 17 February 1977) is a former badminton player from Malaysia. He is the first Malaysian to win a medal in the men's singles event at the BWF World Championships. Currently he is the coaching director for the Malaysia national badminton team. Career Wong Choong Hann's career began with the 1996 Malaysia Open. The first tournament he won was the 1997 Dutch Open. He represented Malaysia in 2002, where Malaysia emerged runners-up to Indonesia in the Thomas Cup championships. In 2003, Wong reached the World Championships finals. In a thrilling three-game match between the veterans (both he and his opponent were above 24 years old then), he eventually lost out to the champion from China, Xia Xuanze. Yohan Hadikusumo Wiratama (; born 6 April 1977) is a badminton player from Indonesia. He is a younger brother of Olympic gold medalist from Indonesia, Alan Budikusuma. Joachim Fischer Nielsen (born 23 November 1978) is a Danish retired badminton player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles with teammate Christinna Pedersen.
