2nd Armored Brigade (Chile)
The 2nd Armored Brigade is a unit of the Chilean Army. It is currently the 2nd Armored Brigade "''Cazadores''". It is part of to the VI Army Division of Chile, with a garrison in Fuerte Baquedano, Iquique, I Region of the country, this unit was made up of the Infantry Battalion No. 5 "Carampangue Carampangue is a small town in Biobío Region, Chile. Chileans
Chileans ( es, Chilenos) are people identified with the country of Chile, whose connection may be residential, legal, historical, ethnic, or cultural. Fuerte Baquedano
The Fuerte Baquedano is a large military base of the Chilean Army located in the Atacama Desert. It is located 15km to the North of Pozo Almonte and 16km to the South of Huara. It is considered the largest defense facility in Chile and the most powerful due to the large number of armored vehicles it has. The place is known for being a patch of vegetation in the middle of the desert landscape, since the facilities are surrounded by trees and bushes. It is the headquarters of the Second Armored Brigade "''Cazadores''". It was created on December 16, 2007 on the basis of the Armored Regiment 2 "''Cazadores''". Iquique
Iquique () is a port city and commune in northern Chile, capital of both the Iquique Province and Tarapacá Region. It lies on the Pacific coast, west of the Pampa del Tamarugal, which is part of the Atacama Desert. It has a population of 191,468 according to the 2017 census. It is also the main commune of Greater Iquique. The city developed during the heyday of the saltpetre mining in the Atacama Desert in the 19th century. Once a Peruvian city with a large Chilean population, it was conquered by Chile in the War of the Pacific (1879–1883). Today it is one of only two free ports of Chile, the other one being Punta Arenas, in the country's far south. Carampangue
Carampangue is a small town in Biobío Region, Chile. The town is approximately 50 kilometers south of the regional capital, Concepción, and a borders the towns of Arauco and Ramadillas. Carampangue is split by a highway, with the two parts respectively referred to by residents as Carampangue Viejo (old Carampangue) and Carampangue Nuevo (New Carampangue). This division is not legal or administrative – it just makes giving directions easier. The name Carampangue is Mapudungun for green Nalca. Nalca is a fern like plant that grows in the area and is commonly eaten like celery with salt. The lumber industry is the primary economic backbone of the region. Celulosa Arauco operates outside of the town and is the single largest employer in the area. Including the surrounding communities of Conumo, La Meseta, Chillancito and Pichilo, the population of Carampangue is 6000.
