2C-T-8
2C-T-8 is a psychedelic phenethylamine of the 2C family. It was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin, sometimes used as an entheogen. Chemistry The full name of the chemical is 2,5-dimethoxy-4-cyclopropylmethyl thiophenethylamine. The compound is reported to have a bad taste and smell. Effects In his book '' PiHKAL'', Shulgin lists the dosage range as 30 to 50 mg. 2C-T-8 is generally taken orally and effects typically last 10 to 15 hours. Experiences have varied between insight and creativity at low doses to hypersensitivity and paranoia at higher doses. A "thinking-connection" that is characteristic of the 2C-T group is evident in this chemical in stark contrast to the "pure euphoria" of phenethylamines such as MDMA. 2C (2C-''x'') is a general name for the family of psychedelic drug, psychedelic phenethylamines containing Methoxy, methoxy groups on the 2 and 5 carbon, positions of a benzene ring. Most of these compounds also carry lipophilic substituents at the 4 position, usually resulting in more potent and more metabolism, metabolically stable and longer acting compounds. Most of the currently known 2C compounds were first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin in the 1970s and 1980s and published in his book ''PiHKAL'' (''Phenethylamines i Have Known And Loved''). 2C-T (or 4-methylthio-2,5-DMPEA) is a psychedelic and hallucinogenic drug of the 2C family. It is used by some as an entheogen. It has structural and pharmacodynamic properties similar to the drugs mescaline and 2C-T-2. It was first synthesized and studied through a collaboration between David E. Nichols and Alexander Shulgin. Chemistry 2C-T is in a class of compounds commonly known as phenethylamines, and is the 4- methyl thio analogue of 2C-O, a positional isomer of mescaline. The 5-HT2A receptor is a subtype of the 5-HT2 receptor that belongs to the serotonin receptor family and is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR). Operation Web Tryp
Operation Web Tryp was a United States Drug Enforcement Administration operation that ended on July 21, 2004 with the arrests of 10 persons. Its purpose was to investigate web sites suspected of distribution of unscheduled, unregulated tryptamines and phenethylamines of questionable legality. This trade in "grey market" drugs, which were not explicitly illegal but potentially prosecutable as drug analogs, became known as the "research chemical" trade; a euphemism to suggest that the chemicals were being sold for industrial or academic research rather than human consumption. 2C-T-7 is a psychedelic phenethylamine of the 2C family. In his book '' PiHKAL: A Chemical Love Story'', Alexander Shulgin lists the dosage range as 10 to 30 mg. 2C-T-7 is generally taken orally, and produces psychedelic and entactogenic effects that last 8 to 15 hours. Up until Operation Web Tryp and three deaths, two of which involved the use of other drugs in addition to 2C-T-7, and one which involved an excessive insufflated dose, 2C-T-7 was sold commercially in Dutch and Japanese smartshops and online. It is known on the streets as Blue Mystic or 7th Heaven. There has been little real research done on this chemical other than Shulgin's comments in PiHKAL and a few small animal studies mostly aimed at detecting metabolites.
