Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (Taipei)
The National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall () is located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is a memorial to the Republic of China's Father of the Nation, National Father, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and was completed in 1972. The total building area covers in an open space of . It contains displays of Sun's life and the revolution he led, and is also a multi-purpose social, educational and cultural center for the public. Description The main entrance to the hall contains a statue of Sun Yat-sen. Every hour, there is a formal changing of the guards, which is a popular tourist attraction. China Television
China Television Company, Ltd. (CTV; ) (Formerly called Taiwan Daytime TV (TDT) in 1969-1975) is a television broadcasting company based in Taipei, Taiwan. It was established on September 3, 1968, by the then-ruling Nationalist Party (KMT) of the Republic of China. The party owned the majority stake of the network. Trial broadcast started on October 9, 1969, and the channel formally started broadcasting on October 31 the same year. It was the first television channel to broadcast full colour television service to the whole island. On August 9, 1999, the channel was publicly listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange, becoming the first publicly listed broadcasting company on the island. Voice of Han Broadcasting Station () also known as Voice of Han Chinese Broadcasting Station was founded in 1942 by the Ministry of National Defense. It is headquartered on Xinyi Road in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei, Taiwan. Tsai Chin (singer)
Tsai Chin () is a pop and folk singer from Taiwan. Tsai sings in both Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese Hokkien and is known for her rich, magnetic vocals. Because of this, she is also known as the "Patti Page of Taiwan". Music career Tsai's hits include "Forgotten Times" (《被遺忘的時光》), "Just Like Your Tenderness" (《恰似你的温柔》), "The Last Night" (《最後一夜》), "Reading You" (《讀你》) and "The Spirit of Your Eyes" (《你的眼神》). The peak of her popularity in Taiwan was from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s but she remains popular in Mainland China. Luo Lan (; 10 October 1919 – 29 August 2015) was a Taiwanese writer and radio personality. Born Chin Pei-fen (靳佩芬) in Ninghe, Hebei, she moved to Taiwan from Tianjin Tianjin (; ; Mandarin: ), alternately romanized as Tientsin (), is a municipality and a coastal metropolis in Northern China on the shore of the Bohai Sea. Luo was first published in 1963 and became well-known first in Taiwan, before finding the same success in China after the opening of the Three Links. Best known for an essay collection, ''Luo Lan Xiao Yu'', she won a Golden Bell silver class special award in 1994. Luo died of cardiopulmonary failure in Taipei on 29 August 2015. She received two governmental citations during the course of her career.
