27th Filmfare Awards
The 27th Filmfare Awards were held in 1980. '' Junoon'' led the ceremony with 9 nominations, followed by ''Gol Maal'' and ''Kaala Patthar'' with 8 nominations. ''Junoon'' won 6 awards, including Best Film and Best Director (for Shyam Benegal), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. Hrishikesh Mukherjee received dual nominations for Best Director for his direction in ''Gol Maal'' and ''Jurmana'', but lost to Shyam Benegal who won the award for ''Junoon''. Junoon (1978 Film)
''Junoon'' (translation: ''The Obsession'') is a 1978 Indian Hindi language film produced by Shashi Kapoor and directed by Shyam Benegal. The film is based on Ruskin Bond's fictional novella, '' A Flight of Pigeons'', set around the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The film's soundtrack was composed by Vanraj Bhatia, and cinematography by Govind Nihalani. Its cast included Shashi Kapoor, his wife Jennifer Kendal, Nafisa Ali, Tom Alter, Shabana Azmi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Naseeruddin Shah, Deepti Naval, Pearl Padamsee and Sushma Seth. Sargam (1979 Film)
''Sargam'' is a 1979 Hindi-language drama film written and directed by K. Viswanath. It was a remake of his earlier Telugu film ''Siri Siri Muvva'' (1976), which also starred Jaya Prada and made her a star in South India. She made her Hindi film debut with this film, repeating her role of a mute dancer. The film stars Rishi Kapoor as her partner, Shashikala as her stepmother, Shreeram Lagoo as her father, with Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Asrani, Vijay Arora and Om Shivpuri. Laxmikant-Pyarelal composed the memorable songs, which won the only Filmfare Award for the film. Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics. Mohammed Rafi has sung all seven songs, three of them were duets with Lata Mangeshkar, including the famous song, "Dafliwale Dafli Baja", "Koyal Boli, Duniya Doli" and "Parbat Ke Us Paar". Naseeruddin Shah
Naseeruddin Shah (born 20 July 1950) is an Indian actor. He is notable in Indian parallel cinema. He has also starred in international productions. He has won numerous awards in his career, including three National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards and the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival. Amjad Khan (actor)
Amjad Khan (12 November 1940 — 27 July 1992) was an Indian actor and film director. He worked in over 132 films in a career spanning nearly twenty years. He was the son of the actor Jayant. He gained popularity for villainous roles in mostly Hindi films, the most famous being Gabbar Singh in the 1975 classic ''Sholay'' and of Dilawar in ''Muqaddar Ka Sikandar'' (1978).
