Taipei Arena
The Taipei Arena () is a multi-purpose stadium located in Songshan, Taipei, Taiwan, and it is operated by the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC). Built in 2005, the large multi-purpose stadium can accommodate major international sport events such as ice skating, ice hockey, gymnastics, handball, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, indoor soccer, boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo and wrestling. Building It was designed by Archasia, an architectural firm based in Taipei, and Populous, a Kansas City, Missouri, design and architectural firm specializing in sports venues. It is located at the site of the former Taipei Municipal Baseball Stadium (built in 1958, opened 1959, demolished 2000). The arena was opened on 1 December 2005. The main arena has an adjustable floor space: its minimum floor space is 60m × 30m, and can be extended to 80m × 40m. The Golden Melody Jury Award (Chinese: 金曲獎評審團獎) is a Golden Melody Award presented by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan, established in the 18th Golden Melody Awards in 2007 to honor an extraordinary body of work that the jury decides to be unique and exemplary. According to the Golden Melody Award, the award does not objectively judge under a set of criteria, but can only hand out the award if more than two-thirds of the jury decides to recognize the work after review and discussion. The award is not given if the jury does not meet a consensus. Jody Chiang
Jody Chiang or Jiang Hui (), born Jiang Shuhui (), is a Taiwanese popular singer. She began recording in the 1980s and retired in 2015, having released 60 albums. Her trademark ballads and folk songs are typically sung in Taiwanese. Her role in Taiwan's popular music scene is often compared to that of Teresa Teng. She is the older sister of Chiang Shu-na. Early career Chiang's mother was a food vendor and her father a glove puppeteer. She grew up in a poor family and quit school at the age of ten to begin singing at warehouses and bars in Beitou, Taipei. She started her commercial singing career in 1981 with a Japanese language album, and was signed to Country Records two years later. Chiang held her first concert in April 2008. ''Lala Hsu'' () is Taiwanese people, Taiwanese Mandopop artist Lala Hsu's self-titled debut studio album. It was released by AsiaMuse on 29 May 2009. Seven tracks were originally performed in the third season of China Television, CTV's ''One Million Star'' including additional four new tracks. The album is a bestseller both in Taiwan and Singapore upon its release. Hsu won the "Best New Artist" award with this album at the 21st Golden Melody Awards. Background In 2008, Hsu took part in the third season of ''One Million Star'' singing contest with aims to set up a chicken restaurant with the prize money. Lala Hsu
Lala Hsu (; born 20 December 1984) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. Hsu was born in Hualien County, Taiwan, and grew up in Taichung. Hsu was a contestant in the third season of CTV's ''One Million Star'' in 2008. She won the contest with a self-composed and written song on 15 August of that year. She released her self-titled debut album on 29 May 2009. Power Station (Taiwanese Band)
Power Station () is a Taiwanese rock duo, composed of Yu Chiu-hsin (尤秋興) and Yen Chih-lin (顏志琳), both of the Paiwan people, Paiwan tribe of Taiwan's Pingtung County. Their music is characterized by their energetic rock ballads, as well as their electrifying rock anthems. Their looks and long hair stand out from the mainstream Taiwan pop scene because of their resemblance to western heavy metal musicians. Super Junior-M
Super Junior-M (stylized as SJ-M), an initialism for Super Junior-Mandarin, is a Chinese sub-unit of the South Korean boy band Super Junior. The sub-unit is the first international music group in the Chinese music industry to have members of both Chinese and Korean descent. Formed in 2008, Super Junior-M became the third and most successful subgroup branched off from the Korean band Super Junior. The sub-unit originally consisted of leader Han Geng, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun and two additional members appearing exclusively to the subgroup, Zhou Mi and Henry. ''Super Girl'' is the first extended play (EP) and second overall release by South Korean Mandopop boy band Super Junior-M, sub-group of Super Junior. It was released by SM Entertainment on 23 September 2009. It was released in Taiwan on the same day by Avex Taiwan and in Hong Kong on 25 September by Avex Asia and also in Mainland China. It was the last Super Junior-M album to feature Hangeng due to his lawsuit the same year.
