He is the writer, director, and co-star of the prize-winning science-fiction film Primer (film), ''Primer'' (2004), which was his debut feature. ''Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story'' is a 2004 American made-for-television biographical crime drama film starring Jamie Foxx, Lynn Whitfield, Lee Thompson Young and CCH Pounder.
