20 Dead Flower Children
20 Dead Flower Children were an American metal band from Detroit, Michigan, which formed in 1994. They released two records during 1996–1997, before breaking up in the early 2000s. History Formed during 1994, the band released their sef-titled debut ''20 Dead Flower Children'' through local label Overture Records in February 1996. The vocalist for this record, known as "Von", would depart shortly after it was released. While his departure placed 20 Dead Flower Children's future in doubt, they would eventually find a new vocalist, Dennis "D-Hauz" Hogan, and signed to rapper Esham's Overcore Records. Their second album, titled ''Candy Toy Guns and Television'', was released by the label on June 24, 1997. In 1998, the band replaced their bassist and relocated to Huntington Beach, California. ''Candy Toy Guns and Television'' is the second and final studio album by American metal band 20 Dead Flower Children. It was originally released on June 24, 1997 by rapper Esham's label Overcore Records. On October 31, 2000, it was reissued by TVT Records. The original 1997 artwork, featuring a woman painted in bronze holding a gun to her mouth, was kept for TVT's reissue. Esham is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan. Esham released his debut studio album, '' Boomin' Words from Hell'', in 1989. Since then, he has gone on to release 15 studio albums in total and is best known as a representative of the hip hop subgenres horrorcore and rap rock. In 1992, he co-founded the horrorcore group Natas. He and his brother James Smith founded and ran the Detroit hip hop label Reel Life Productions. As one of the first rappers to receive attention in the city, Esham was often cited as a major influence on another Detroit horrorcore act, Insane Clown Posse. Esham is known for incorporating elements of rock music in his beats, and his lyrics cover a number of subjects, including death, drug use, evil, paranoia and sex.
