The 2024–25 Malaysia Super League ( ms, Liga Super Malaysia 2024–25) is the 21st season of the Malaysia Super League, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia since its establishment in 2004, and the 43rd season of top-flight Malaysian football overall. This is the first season to have a two-year schedule, since the 2007–08. This is the first time the league officially applies video assistant referee (VAR) technology. The defending champion from the 2023 Malaysia Super League season is Johor Darul Ta'zim. The Malaysia Super League ( ms, Liga Super Malaysia) is the men's top professional football division of the Malaysian football league system. Administered by the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP), now known as the Malaysian Football League (MFL), the Malaysia Super League is contested by twelve teams that operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Malaysia Premier League, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated and replaced by the promoted top two teams in that division. The league replaced the former top-tier league, Liga Perdana 1 in the Malaysian football league system, which ran from 1998 to 2003. 33 clubs have competed in the division since the inception of the Malaysia Super League in 2004, with eight teams winning the title (Selangor, Kedah Darul Aman, Kelantan, Sri Pahang, Perlis, Negeri Sembilan, LionsXII and Johor Darul Ta'zim). 2023 Malaysia M3 League
The 2023 Malaysia M3 League was the 3rd season of Malaysia M3 League, the third-tier semi-professional football league in Malaysia, since its establishment in 2019. The season started on February 2023. Establishment and format This new season saw the format restructuring by the Amateur Football League (AFL). On 19 January 2020, the AFL has announced the format changes for the Malaysia M3 League and Malaysia M4 League in preparation for the transition of the amateur team to semi-professionals by 2021.
