2024 York United FC Season
The 2024 York United FC season is the sixth season in the history of York United FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the Canadian Championship. After a 2023 season in which it was operated by Canadian Soccer Business, York United was sold to a new Mexican ownership group, Game Plan Sports, in late November 2023. York United will play the 2024 season at York Lions Stadium, while the new owners will be looking into alternative permanent venues for the future. On May 21, 2024, manager Martin Nash was relieved of his head coaching duties and replaced by Mauro Eustáquio on an interim basis. Dorados de Sinaloa, or Dorados, is a Mexican professional football club based on Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. History Dorados de Sinaloa was founded on August 9, 2003. Vaughan Azzurri is a Canadian semi-professional soccer team based in Vaughan, Ontario, that currently competes in the League1 Ontario men's and women's divisions. The semi-professional team was founded in 2014 by the Vaughan Soccer Club, which is a youth soccer club as part of their High Performance Program. Nyal Christian-Anthony Higgins (born January 19, 1998) is a Canadian professional association football, soccer player who plays for York United FC in the Canadian Premier League. Noah Abraham Sewonet Abatneh (born September 28, 2004) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for York United in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Born in Toronto, Abateneh lived in both the Philippines and Egypt, before returning to Canada, moving to Ottawa in his childhood. Abatneh began playing youth soccer at age five with Ottawa St. Anthony Futuro Academy, also playing with the Ottawa Royals Futuro Academy.
