2024 Wuhan Open (snooker)
The 2024 Wuhan Open (officially the 2024 Optics Valley of China Wuhan Open) was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 6 to 12 October 2024 at the China Optics Valley Convention & Exhibition Center (COVCEC) in Wuhan, China. The sixth Snooker world rankings, ranking event of the 2024–25 snooker season, 202425 season, it followed the 2024 British Open and preceded the 2024 Northern Ireland Open. The winner received £140,000 from a total prize fund of £700,000. Qualifiers took place from 28 to 30 July 2024 at the Leicester Arena in Leicester, England. 2024 World Snooker Championship
The 2024 World Snooker Championship (officially the 2024 Cazoo World Snooker Championship) is an upcoming professional snooker tournament that will be held from 20 April to 6 May 2024 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England, the 48th consecutive year that the World Snooker Championship will be staged at the venue. The final ranking tournament of the 2023–24 snooker season, it is organised by the World Snooker Tour and sponsored for the second time by car retailer Cazoo. Luca Brecel will be the defending champion, having won his first world title at the 2023 event, where he defeated Mark Selby 18–15 in the final. Maximum Break
A maximum break (also known as a maximum, a 147, or orally, a one-four-seven) is the highest possible in a single of snooker. A player compiles a maximum break by potting all 15 with 15 for 120 points, followed by all six for a further 27 points. Compiling a maximum break is regarded as a particularly significant achievement in the game of snooker, and may be compared to a nine-dart finish in darts or a 300 game in ten-pin bowling. In snooker, a century break (also century, sometimes called a ton) is a of 100 points or more, compiled in one to the table. A century break requires potting at least 25 consecutive balls, and the ability to score centuries is regarded as a mark of the highest skill in snooker. Ali Carter
Allister Carter (born 25 July 1979) is an English professional snooker player. He has twice been the World Championship runner-up, in 2008 and 2012, losing both finals to Ronnie O'Sullivan. He has won four ranking titles and briefly reached number two in the world rankings in 2010. His nickname, "The Captain", comes from his hobby of piloting aeroplanes. Mark Joyce
Mark Joyce (born 11 August 1983) is an English professional snooker player who lives in Walsall. He began his professional career by playing Challenge Tour in 2003. Joyce enjoyed an outstanding amateur career, winning the European Under-19 Championship in 2001, the English Open in 2005 and the English Amateur Championship in 2006, beating Martin O'Donnell 8–3 in the final. Joyce also finished fifth on the 2005/06 Pontin's International Open Series, winning the second of eight events, to book a place on Main Tour.
