2024 New Zealand National League
The 2024 New Zealand Men's National League is the fourth scheduled season of the New Zealand National League, National League since its restructuring in 2021; the 2021 New Zealand National League, 2021 National League was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, COVID-19 pandemic in northern regions. 32 clubs compete in the competition, with four qualifying from the Northern League (New Zealand), Northern League, three qualifying from the Central League (New Zealand), Central League and two qualifying from the Southern League (New Zealand), Southern League for the National Championship phase. New Zealand National League
The New Zealand Men's National League is a men's football league at the top of the New Zealand football league system. Founded in 2021, the New Zealand National League is the successor to the New Zealand Football Championship. The league will be contested by ten teams, with teams qualifying from their regional leagues. Four teams qualify from the Northern League, three qualify from the Central League, two qualify from the newly formed Southern League and the Wellington Phoenix Reserves are automatically given a spot each year. The regional leagues runs from March through to September, with each league having a varying number of games. The Championship phase runs after the completion of the regional phase with each team playing each other once, followed by a grand final. Bay City Park
Bay City Park, is a multi-purpose stadium in the suburb of Oteha in Auckland, New Zealand. It is used for football matches and cricket and is the home stadium of Northern League side East Coast Bays. History In 1991, Bay City Park was opened as the new home of East Coast Bays. In September 2022, FIFA announced that Bay City Park were shortlisted to be a team base camp for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. On 12 December 2022, it was announced Bay City Park would be used as the training ground for the United States during the tournament. As part of being a host venue, Bay City Park will receive upgrades to the lower fields in order to be up to international standard. Beach Haven, New Zealand
Beach Haven is a southwestern suburb of the North Shore, located in Auckland, New Zealand. The area has gentrified rapidly over recent years as young professionals moved into the area. History Prior to European settlement, the Beach Haven area was covered to the water’s edge by thick bush, pōhutukawa, ferns and giant kauri trees. Maori tribes inhabited the area, but were decimated by wars and finally succumbed to the newly acquired guns of Hongi Hika. In 1844 the area was sold to the Government and became deserted. One of the first settlers in the district established an orchard near Soldier’s Bay and as the kauri trees were gradually removed from the land, it was found to be an ideal place for fruit growing, especially grapes and strawberries. Most of the kauri trees taken out were used by boat builders for masts and spurs. Shepherds Park, is a reserve and sports ground in the suburb of Beach Haven in Auckland, New Zealand. Birkenhead United AFC is an amateur football club based in Beach Haven, on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. They currently compete in the Northern League. Club history The club was established as Birkenhead in 1960 before it amalgamated with Birkdale in 1963 taking its current name as Birkenhead United. Present day Since 1965, Birkenhead have mainly played either in Division 1 or Division 2 of the Northern League though they twice early on, made it into Premier Division in 1968 and 1970, only to be relegated again that same year. They also had one of their best early runs in the 1970 Chatham Cup, making it to the 5th round before losing to Eden 1–4. They wouldn't repeat that success in the cup again until 2010. New Lynn
New Lynn is a residential suburb in West Auckland, New Zealand, located 10 kilometres to the southwest of the Auckland city centre.
