2024 Maryland Elections
A general election will be held in the U.S. state of Maryland on November 5, 2024. In addition to the 2024 United States presidential election, U.S. presidential race, Maryland voters will elect all of its seats in the United States House of Representatives, and one of its U.S. senators. Various municipal elections, including in Cecil County, Maryland, Cecil County, Baltimore, and the city of Hagerstown, Maryland, Hagerstown, will also be held. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM Eastern Time Zone, EST. Maryland
Maryland ( ) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It shares borders with Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia to its south and west; Pennsylvania to its north; and Delaware and the Atlantic Ocean to its east. Maryland Matters
States Newsroom is a U.S. tax-exempt organization that serves as an umbrella organization for state-focused news outlets with progressive editorial outlooks. Launched in 2019, it began as a sponsored project of the Hopewell Fund, a left-leaning nonprofit that does not disclose its donors. It grew out of NC Policy Watch, a progressive think tank in North Carolina founded by Chris Fitzsimon. Fitzsimon is States Newsroom's director and publisher. States Newsroom had anticipated revenue of more than $27 million by the end of 2021. It grew from five affiliates upon its 2019 launch to 19 affiliates in 2020. The Baltimore Banner
''The Baltimore Banner'' is a news website in Baltimore founded by the Venetoulis Institute for Local Journalism, which is a nonprofit set up by Stewart W. Bainum Jr. It launched June 14, 2022. The website has 44,000 paying subscribers and a staff of 125, with about 80 working the newsroom, as of March 2024. The ''Baltimore Banner'' was also a 1965 newspaper, set up as a "strike paper" during a strike against Baltimore newspapers. During a 1984 strike, strikers considered resurrecting it. Odette Ramos
Odette T. Ramos is the Baltimore City Councilmember for Baltimore's 14th District. Ramos founded Strategic Management Consulting, LLC to work on community building; one of her clients was Unchained Talent, a youth arts organization. Bilal Ali
Bilal Abdul Malik Ali is an American politician who served as a delegate to the Maryland General Assembly representing Maryland's District 41. Political career Ali was appointed to the Maryland House of Delegates, filling the vacancy created when Jill P. Carter resigned. He was defeated for election in the 2018 Democratic primary. In the legislature Ali was sworn in on February 3, 2017, and assigned to the House Ways and Means committee. He was a member of the Baltimore City Delegation and the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland. Sharon Green Middleton (born May 1, 1954) is an American Democratic politician from Baltimore, Maryland who has been a member of the Baltimore City Council since 2007 and its vice president since 2016. Nick Mosby
Nick J. Mosby (born 1978) is an American politician from Baltimore, Maryland. He is the current President of the Baltimore City Council. First elected to serve on the City Council from 2011 to 2016, Mosby was subsequently appointed in 2017 to the Maryland House of Delegates, representing Baltimore City's 40th District. He was elected as Baltimore City Council in November 2020, assuming the role in December of that year. Early life Mosby was born in the Northwood neighborhood of Baltimore.
