2024 Liga 2 (Peru)
The 2024 Liga 2 (known as the Liga 2 1xBet 2024 for sponsorship reasons) is the 79th edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. This year's edition started on 6 April 2024, and it is scheduled to end in October 2024. Changes For this season the league was expanded to 18 teams from the previous 14. On February 22, 2024, the Peruvian Football Federation announced a new format for the Liga 2. All 18 teams will be divided into two groups in the Regional Stage based on their geographical location, being the Zona Norte (North Zone) and Zona Sur (South Zone). Each team will play each other in a round-robin format and the top six teams will advance to the Group Stage and bottom three into the Relegation Stage. Peruvian Segunda División
The Liga 2 (Ligue 2) of Peru is the second-highest division in the Peruvian football league system. It is a professional and promotional division organized by the Peruvian Football Federation. After years of changing numbers of clubs, as of 2021 the league includes 12 clubs. History The format of the Second Division has changed over the years. For decades after it was first formed in 1936, only clubs from the Lima Region, Department of Lima participated in the annual tournament. 2024 Copa Perú
The 2024 Peru Cup season ( es, Copa Perú 2024), the largest amateur tournament of Peruvian football. The District Stage ( es, Ligas Distritales) started in February - March, and the National Stage ( es, Etapa Nacional) started in November. The winner and runner-up will be promoted to the Liga 2 and the 24 Departmental champions will be promoted to Liga 3. Academia Cantolao
Academia Deportiva Cantolao is a Peruvian football club based in the city of Callao, Peru. However, the club is mostly known for its youth academy. Their football academy is considered one of the best in Peru. Academia Cantolao has educated many players who have gone on to play in the Torneo Descentralizado (Peruvian top-flight) and abroad, including many Peruvian international players. Molinos El Pirata
Pirata Fútbol Club is a Peruvian professional soccer club based in José Leonardo Ortiz District in the city of Chiclayo, Lambayeque Region. The team currently competes in the Liga 2. History The club was founded on November 15, 2015 in the José Leonardo Ortiz District. It is named after the brother of honorary president Luis Alberto Guevara. Molinos El Pirata is owned by G&B Molinos, a rice processing plant. El Pirata had a very successful maiden campaign which it started from the José Leonardo Ortiz District League in the Copa Perú. That year it finished the district league as runner-up and won the Chiclayo provincial league. It would then go on to become the Lambayeque departmental champion and qualify for the National Stage for the first time. Asociación FC Carlos Stein is a Peruvian football club from the José Leonardo Ortiz District in the city of Lambayeque Region, Lambayeque.
