Track And Field
Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. Track and field is categorized under the umbrella sport of athletics, which also includes road running, cross country running and racewalking. The foot racing events, which include sprints, middle- and long-distance events, racewalking, and hurdling, are won by the athlete who completes it in the least time. Hamish Kerr
Hamish Kerr (born 17 August 1996) is a New Zealand high jumper. He won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and bronze at the 2022 World Indoor Championships. Kerr is the Oceanian indoor record holder in the high jump and holds the New Zealand outdoor record. Career In June 2019, Kerr equalled the national record with a jump of 2.30 m, winning the gold medal at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Townsville. He went on to compete at the Universiade in Naples, Italy in July and then the World Athletics Championships in October in Doha, Qatar. In February 2021, he improved the national record with 2.31 m at the Newtown Park Stadium, Wellington. Stanley Grant Holloway (born November 19, 1997) is an American hurdler and sprinter. He is the 2019 and 2022 world champion in the 110 meters hurdles, 2020 Olympic silver medalist in the same event, and current world record holder in the indoor 60 m hurdles, with a time of 7.29 seconds which he set on February 24, 2021. He is also the second fastest man in the 110 meters hurdles in history with a personal best of 12.81 seconds, set at the U.S. Olympic Trials on June 26, 2021. Josh Kerr (born 8 October 1997) is a Scottish middle-distance runner who competes primarily in the 1500 metres. He is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist in the event. Freweyni Hailu (born 12 February 2001) is an Ethiopian middle-distance runner. She won the gold medal at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships over 1500 metres. She placed fourth in the 1500 metres at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In 2022, Hailu became the World Indoor silver medallist at the 800 metres in Belgrade. Bryce Hoppel (born September 5, 1997) is an American middle-distance runner, who is a member of the 2020 U.S. Olympic track team for the 800 meters. He holds the American indoor record in the 1000 meters. Hoppel attended the University of Kansas.
