2024 European Athletics Championships – Women's Discus Throw
The women's discus throw at the 2024 European Athletics Championships took place at the Stadio Olimpico on 7 June and 8 June. Records Schedule Results Qualification Qualification: 62.50 m (Q) or best 12 performers (q) Final The final was started on 8 June at 21:37. The results were revised after it was determined that the third attempt of Vanessa Kamga was incorrectly recorded as it would have been "closer to 60m than the distance recorded". Had it been recorded correctly, Kamga would not have been in the top eight after the first three rounds and would not have qualified for the final three attempts. Thus, her fourth, fifth, and sixth throws were annulled and her original fifth place was changed to a ninth place. 2024 European Athletics Championships
The 26th European Athletics Championships will be held from 7 to 12 June 2024 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy. It will be the third time Italy has staged this sporting the event after the inaugural 1934 edition in Turin, for men only, and the 1974 edition at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Thus, the city and the venue will host the event for the second time after 50 years. Stadio Olimpico staged also the 1960 Olympic Games and 1987 World Championships in Athletics. The venue was renovated in 1990 and holds up to 70,000 spectators. On 10 November 2020, the European Athletic Association (EAA) chose Rome at its 160th Council Meeting held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Caisa-Marie Lindfors
Caisa-Marie Lindfors (born 5 August 2000) is a Swedish discus thrower. She is a multiple-time Swedish Athletics Championships winner and has represented Sweden at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. Career Lindfors started competing in throws as early as 2014, and she finished 4th at the 2015 Swedish U16 Championships in the discus. After improving that to 2nd at the 2016 U17 Championships, she achieved her first national win at the U18 Team Championships with a 37.85 m throw representing Upsala IF. Lindfors' first international win came at the 2017 U18 Finnkampen, throwing a 47.32 m personal best for the victory. The following year she improved that best to 51.26 m at the Bottnarydskastet, qualifying her for the 2018 World U20 Championships. In the qualification, Lindfors placed 18th overall and did not advance to the finals.
