2024 CIBACOPA Season
The 2024 CIBACOPA season is the 22nd season of the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico (CIBACOPA), one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. The regular season began on 1 March 2024 and will end on 18 May 2024. Format 10 teams are participating in the 2024 season, playing in one single group. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs, which are three rounds in a best-of-7 format. Teams Changes from the previous season * The Ángeles de la Ciudad de México joined the league as an expansion team. * The Frayles de Guasave returned to the league after a five-year hiatus, having last played in 2018. Tijuana Zonkeys
The Tijuana Zonkeys are a Mexican professional basketball team based in Tijuana, Baja California. The Zonkeys are part of the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico (CIBACOPA). They play their home games at the Auditorio Academia Zonkeys. The team was founded in 2010, and won back-to-back championships in 2014 and 2015. The name comes from the tradition of painting stripes on to donkeys to resemble zebras, a practice once common on the city's famed tourist strip, Avenida Revolución. Tourists would pay to take pictures with or on the zonkeys. History The team was founded in 2010 and entered the league the same year. Guaymas () is a city in Guaymas Municipality, in the southwest part of the state of Sonora, in northwestern Mexico. The city is south of the state capital of Hermosillo, and from the U.S. border. Arena ITSON
Arena ITSON is a 7,464-seat indoor arena located in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora. It was built in 2009 by the Sonora Institute of Technology, for whom it was named and which also owns the Potros ITSON basketball team, which serves as the arena's anchor tenant. The arena seats 3,500 for basketball, including eight luxury suites holding eight fans each and 32 boxes, including 28 holding 12 fans each and additional four holding 15 fans each. A sports bar overlooks the arena floor and provides a unique seating area with 200 seats providing a view of the action. The arena is also used for concerts, boxing, lucha libre, graduation ceremonies and other special events. Guasave
Guasave () is a city and the seat of the homonymous municipality in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. It is located in the northwestern part of Mexico, southeast of the city of Los Mochis. It stands at .
