The 2024 Brussels Cycling Classic was the 104th edition of the Brussels Cycling Classic road cycling one day race. It was held on 2 June 2024 as part of the 2024 UCI ProSeries calendar. 2024 UCI ProSeries
The 2024 UCI ProSeries is the fifth season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The calendar consists of 55 events, of which 33 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 22 are stage races (2.Pro). There were 49 events in Europe, five in Asia, and one in the United States. Cyclingnews.com is a website providing cycling news and race result owned by Future. History In 1995 Australian Bill Mitchell, a keen cyclist and professor of economics at the University of Newcastle, created the website titled "Bill’s Cycling Racing Results and News" after finding there was a need for fast-breaking news and race results in English-speaking countries. In 1999 Sydney-based publishing company Knapp Communications purchased the website from Mitchell, and in July 2007 they sold it to British publisher Future plc for £2.2m. In July 2014 it was bought by Immediate Media Company, along with the print-only ''Procycling'' magazine. In February 2019, Immediate Media sold its cycling titles back to Future. Juan Sebastián Molano Benavides (born 11 April 1994) is a Colombian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Molano was named in the startlist for the 2017 Vuelta a España. He started riding in the 2019 Giro d'Italia, but he was suspended by his team following stage 3 after "seemingly unusual physiological results". The team refrained from commenting further until more tests were carried out. Molano did not start stage 4. Molano was later cleared to resume racing at the Adriatica Ionica Race in late-July 2019 after further tests found he was "highly sensitive to altitude changes."
