2024 BAL Nile Conference
The 2024 BAL Nile Conference was the 3rd season of the Nile Conference, one of the three conferences of the 2024 season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The composition of the conference and the schedule were announced on 15 February 2024. The conference games began on 19 April and ended on 27 April 2024. Al Ahly won the conference with a 5–1 record, and Al Ahly Ly qualified for the playoffs as second ranked team. Standings Games Gameday 1 The two sides had met each other in the 2024 BAL qualification, where Bangui defeated Al Ahly 87–85 in the semifinal to qualify for the BAL season. Bangui opened the first quarter strong and scored its first nine points from behind the three-point line, and went up 29–26 after the first quarter. Mark Lyons
Mark Steven Lyons (born July 4, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Elitzur Ashkelon of the Israeli National League. He played college basketball for Xavier and Arizona before playing professionally in France, Croatia, Israel, Turkey, China, Russia, Lebanon and Italy. Lyons won the Israeli League championship with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in 2016. He was the top scorer in the Israel Basketball Premier League in both 2015 and 2017. Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate (born 21 July 1987), commonly known as Solo Diabate, is an Ivorian basketball player who plays for Petro de Luanda of the Angolan Basketball League and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). City Oilers is a basketball club based in Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda. The team competes in the Ugandan National Basketball League (NBL), where it has won eight championships, the most in league history. The Oilers play in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in the 2023 season. History The club was founded by a group of friends who decided to play basketball together. They started playing pick-up games at courts in Kampala, with former national league players joining. Later, Justus Mugisha became head coach and suggested the team joined a basketball league. 2023–24 City Oilers Season
The 2023–24 City Oilers season is the 12th season in the existence of the Ugandan basketball club City Oilers. It is the second straight season the Oilers play in the Basketball Africa League (BAL), following a successful performance in their fourth qualification campaign. It was the first NBL Uganda season without head coach Mandy Juruni, who left the team in December.
