2023–24 Third Amateur Football League (Bulgaria)
The 2023–24 Third Amateur Football League season is the 74th of the Bulgarian Third Amateur League. The group is equivalent to the third level of the Bulgarian football pyramid, comprising four divisions based on geographical areas. These divisions are the North-West, North-East, South-East, and South-West. The number of teams in each division varies, similarly to previous seasons. Third Amateur Football League (Bulgaria)
The Bulgarian Third Amateur Football League ( bg, Трета аматьорска футболна лига, Treta Amat'orska Futbolna Liga), commonly referred to as Third League ( bg, Трета лига) or Treta liga, is the third level of the Bulgarian football league system. Third League operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the second and the fourth tier of the Bulgarian football league pyramid – respectively being Second League and the A Oblast Groups. Currently Third League consists of four divisions that are formed by separating the country into four regions: ''North-West'', ''South-West'', ''North-East'' and ''South-East''. The divisions run in parallel during the season, but since the number of teams in each division may vary, the number of rounds in each of them may vary. FC Lokomotiv Ruse
Lokomotiv Ruse is a Bulgarian football club founded in 1930. It was disbanded in 2002 due to financial difficulties. In 2016 FC Marisan Ruse renamed to Lokomotiv, although the team has no legal link with the previous team named Lokomotiv. History Early years Lokomotiv (Ruse) is one of the first railwaymen sport clubs in Bulgaria. It was formed in 1928-1929 from railwaymen workers at Locomotive and Wagon factory in Ruse. FC Spartak Varna II
Spartak II ( bg, Спартак II) or Spartak 2 is a Bulgarian football team based in Varna. Founded in 2021, it is the reserve team of Spartak Varna, and currently plays in Third League, the third level of Bulgarian football. Obliged to play one level below their main side, Spartak II is ineligible for promotion to First League and also can not compete in the Bulgarian Cup. History Since 2015, the Bulgarian Football Union allowed Bulgarian teams to have reserve sides in the lower regional divisions. In 2021 Spartak started a reserve squad in Third League. In 2023 the team expressed desire to take the first place and promote to Second League. Football Club Pirin ( bg, Футболен клуб Пирин) is a Bulgarian football club, based in Gotse Delchev. The club currently plays in the South-West Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football league system. The team's biggest success came in 2012, when they managed to promote to the A PFG for the first time. Their spell in the top-flight lasted two years. FC Lokomotiv Dryanovo ( bg, ФК Локомотив Дряново) is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Dryanovo, currently playing in the North-West Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. Its home matches take place at the Stadion Lokomotiv with a 3,500-seat capacity. Club colors are red and black. The club was officially founded in 1927, after the merging of FC Boyuv Yaz and FC Old Hero. In 1958, the club was a Bulgarian champion of the railwaymen. In 1993/94, Lokomotiv Dryanovo qualified for Round of 16 of the Bulgarian Cup, but were eliminated by FC Chirpan after 0-0 in the first leg and 0-3 in the second leg. FC Vereya
Vereya ( bg, Верея) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Stara Zagora, which currently competes in the Southeast Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. Vereya was founded in 2001. The team made a remarkable rise through the levels of the Bulgarian football system, and by 2016, the club reached the top level of Bulgarian football, the First League, for the first time. In 2019, after three seasons in the First League, they were expelled from it for reported match fixing.
