2023–24 Super League Greece 2
The 2023–24 Super League 2, known as Super League 2 betsson for sponsorship reasons, is the fifth season of the Super League 2, the second-tier Greek professional league for association football clubs, since the restructuring of the Greek football league system. The league will be conducted by 24 teams and two groups, this is due to the restructure and abolishment of the Football League. The B Teams of Olympiacos, PAOK, Panathinaikos and AEK Athens will also compete in the league for a third consecutive year. Super League Greece 2
The Super League Greece 2 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λίγκα 2) is the 28 team two-group second division of professional football in Greece, being a feeder-league to the top-level Super League usually played from September to May. History The league was founded in 2019, after the restructuring of the Greek football league championships, replacing the Football League (former Beta Ethniki) as the second level in the league pyramid. Twelve (12) clubs participated in the league's first season and second season of operation. For the third season (2021-2022) the league was restructured into a two-group league with thirty-two (32) clubs after the abolition of the third level Football League. Irodotos Football Club, short for ''Podosferikós Athlitikós Sýllogos Alikarnassoú Iródotos'' ( el, Ποδοσφαιρικός Αθλητικός Σύλλογος Αλικαρνασσού Ηρόδοτος, meaning ''Irodotos Football Sports Club of Halicarnassus'') and also simply known as Irodotos, is a Greek football club, based in Nea Alikarnassos, Heraklion. Kozani ( el, Κοζάνη, ) is a city in northern Greece, capital of Kozani regional unit and of Western Macedonia. Aiolikos Football Club () is a Greek association football club, based in Mytilene. They currently play on the 6th group of Gamma Ethniki. History The club was established in 1975 after a merger of two local teams – Atlantas and Apollon. The name Aiolikos was inspired by the Aeolians, the name by which the Greek inhabitants of Lesbos and nearby Aeolis, Anatolia, have been known since antiquity. Incidentally, there was also a Greek football club called Aiolikos that was based in Smyrna ( Izmir), around 1890, which would often play matches against teams of visiting British sailors. 2021–22 Gamma Ethniki
The 2021-22 Gamma Ethniki is the 39th season since the official establishment of the championship in 1983, and the first after the reestablishment as the 3rd tier of the Greek Football. It will start on 23 October 2021. After the finish of the seven groups, the champion of each group will qualify for a playoff round, to determine which four teams will be promoted to 2022–23 Super League 2. 81 teams are divided into seven groups according to geographical criteria. Levadiakos Football Club ( el, ΠΑΕ Λεβαδειακός) is a Greek professional football club that plays in the Super League Greece. Based in Livadeia, Greece, the club was promoted to the Alpha Ethniki, forerunner of the Super League, after ten seasons in minor divisions in the 2005–06 season, as runner-up of the Football League in 2004–05. It was then relegated to the Beta Ethniki again in 2006–07 and returned to the top tier in 2007–08.
