2023–24 Kent State Golden Flashes Women's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Kent State Golden Flashes women's basketball team represented Kent State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Flashes, led by eighth-year head coach Todd Starkey, played their home games at the MAC Center in Kent, Ohio, as members of the Mid-American Conference. The team finished the regular season at 18–10 and finished third in the Mid-American Conference with a 13–5 record in conference play. In the 2024 MAC women's basketball tournament, Kent State defeated Northern Illinois, Ball State, and Buffalo to win their fourth MAC tournament title and first since 2002, and advance to the 2024 NCAA tournament. In the NCAA tournament, Kent State was seeded 15th in the Albany 1 region and fell to second-seeded Notre Dame in the first round to finish the season at 21–11. Todd Starkey
Todd Starkey (born June 5, 1971) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at Kent State University. Career He was previously an assistant coach at Indiana University Bloomington and was also the head women's basketball coach at Lenoir–Rhyne University from 2005 to 2014, where he won a national coach of the year award in 2009. Loveland, Ohio
Loveland is a city in Hamilton, Clermont, and Warren counties in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Considered part of the Greater Cincinnati area, Loveland is located near exit 52 off Interstate 275, about northeast of the Cincinnati city limits. Waunakee Community High School
Waunakee Community High School is a public high school located in Waunakee, Wisconsin. It is part of the Waunakee Community School District and part of the Badger Conference in athletics. Waunakee () is a village in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 14,879 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. Waunakee bills itself as "The Only Waunakee in the World". History When the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad wanted to expand its line from Madison to Saint Paul, a door was opened for development of a town.
