FC Twente
Football Club Twente () is a Dutch professional football club from the city of Enschede, sometimes known internationally as Twente Enschede. The club was formed in 1965 by the merger of 1926 Dutch champions Sportclub Enschede with Enschedese Boys. It was the holder of the 2011 KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield trophies, and was Eredivisie champion in the 2009–10 season; the club has also finished as Eredivisie runner-up twice, was runner-up in the 1974–75 UEFA Cup, and has won the KNVB Cup three times. Gijs Smal
Gijs Smal (born 31 August 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Eredivisie club FC Twente. Club career Born in De Rijp, Smal made his Eerste Divisie debut for FC Volendam on 22 September 2017 in a game against De Graafschap. He then managed to establish himself in the starting line-up and made 28 league appearances in his first season. The following season, Smal lost the competition for left-back to Robin Schouten, who had come over from Jong Ajax, and mainly appeared as a substitute. However, he did become champion of the Derde Divisie Sunday with the reserve team, Jong Volendam. Under the new head coach Wim Jonk, he again became a starter for the first team in the 2019–20 season. Joshua Benjamin Brenet (born 20 March 1994) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a full-back for Eredivisie club Twente. Club career Brenet is a graduate of PSV's youth academy, having joined the club in 2011 from Zeeburgia. He made his professional debut on 6 December 2012 in a Europa League game against Napoli, coming on for Peter van Ooijen after 87 minutes. Younes Taha
Younes Taha El Idrissi (born 27 November 2002) is a footballer who plays as a midfielder for FC Twente. Born in the Netherlands, he represents Morocco at youth level. Club career PEC Zwolle Taha joined PEC Zwolle in the summer of 2022 from FC Volendam having never started a senior game for Volendam. He signed for PEC Zwolle on a two-year contract with an option for a third year. Michel Vlap
Michel Vlap (; born 2 June 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Twente. He has represented the Netherlands internationally at various youth levels. Though his preferred position is in an advanced midfield role, Vlap is also able to play on the wing and as a forward. Club career Heerenveen Vlap is an academy graduate of Eredivisie side Heerenveen and is the son of academy coach and former player Jan Vlap. Having progressed through the ranks of Heerenveen's youth academy, he signed his first professional contract on 17 February 2015, penning a three-year deal with the club. Alfons Sampsted (born 6 April 1998) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Dutch club Twente. Club career Alfons started his career with local club Breiðablik in Kópavogur in 2015, playing a single cup game, before going on loan to Þór from Akureyri for the latter half of the season. In 2016, he played most of Breiðablik's games as they finished 6th in the 2016 Úrvalsdeild. In January 2017, he was transferred to Swedish club IFK Norrköping. Ricky van Wolfswinkel (; born 27 January 1989) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a striker for Eredivisie club FC Twente.
