2023 Western Balkans Summit, Tirana
The 2023 Western Balkans Summit in Tirana, Albania was the tenth annual summit of the Berlin Process, the European Union initiative for the integration of the Western Balkans into the Union. It was the first of the Berlin Process summits to be held in a Western Balkan state. A follow up meeting took place in Brussels on 13 December 2023. Tirana
Tirana ( , ; ) is the capital and List of cities and towns in Albania, largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills, with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year. Tirana was founded in 1614 by Ottoman Albanian general Sulejman Bargjini, Sylejman Pasha Bargjini, centered on the Sulejman Pasha Mosque, Old Mosque and ''Sulejman Pasha Tomb, türbe''. Borjana Krišto (; born 13 August 1961) is a Bosnian Croat politician serving as Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina since January 2023. She previously served as the 8th president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2007 to 2011. She is the first woman to hold both positions. Krišto holds a degree in law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Banja Luka. From 2003 to 2007, she served as Federal Minister of Justice. Nikolai Denkov Denkov (, born 3 September 1962) is a Bulgarian politician who served as Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 2023 to 2024.
