Ballygunner entered the championship as the defending champions in search of a record-breaking 10th successive title. Rathgormack GAA is a GAA club based in the Rathgormack region of County Waterford. Originally two clubs, Clonea Power and Rathgormack amalgamated in 1987 to form one club. History Rathgormack GAA Club is a Gaelic football club which is assisted by Clonea Hurling Club, both club's which are in the parish of Clonea and Rathgormack. Dungarvan GAA is a GAA club based in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland. The club participates in both hurling and Gaelic football. The club currently heads the roll of honour in the Waterford Senior Football Championship with a total of 19 wins. Lismore GAA
Lismore GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and one adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. The club has won county titles in both Hurling and football, but in recent history the club has been mainly concerned with the game of hurling. The club's Camogie teams have also enjoyed much success. Roanmore GAA (Irish Language, Irish: ) is a GAA club in Waterford City, Republic of Ireland. Formed in 1970, the club made rapid progress, achieving Senior Hurling status in 1980. The club's greatest achievement was winning back to back Waterford Senior Hurling Championships in 1989 and 1990. Tallow GAA ( ga, CLG Tulach an Iarainn) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Tallow, in west County Waterford, Ireland. The club has won the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship four times, first in 1936 and more recently in 1980, 1984 and 1985. Tallow presently have four players on the Waterford county panel, James Murray, Aidan Kearney, Mark O' Brien and Thomas Ryan. Tallow GAA's ground is called Páirc Eamonn de Paor after the former Waterford hurler & coach, Ned Power who taught in the local school through the 1960s, 1970s & 1980s. Ned played for and coached countless Tallow teams in both hurling & football. He was widely regarded as one of the finest and most forward-thinking coach in GAA history, with many accolades and titles associated with his name. Mount Sion ( ga, Cnoc Sion) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Waterford City, County Waterford, Ireland. It was founded by teachers in the school of the same name. Although technically separate from the school, the club still maintains a close relationship with the school, sharing the same sports facilities in the city. The club fields teams in both the Waterford Hurling and Gaelic football championships and has had many famous players, including John Keane, Philly Grimes, Tony Browne and Ken McGrath. The club is mainly concerned with the game of hurling and is the most successful in Waterford with 35 county title wins, although they did win 5 county football titles back in the 1950s. Waterford IT GAA is the GAA club of the Waterford Institute of Technology, established in 1981. Its hurling team play in the Fitzgibbon Cup and Waterford Crystal Cup as well as Higher Education Leagues. Its football team play in the Sigerson Cup and McGrath Cup as well as Higher Education Leagues. It's camogie team competes in the Ashbourne Cup.
