The 2023 Washington Huskies baseball team were representing the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington in the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. Jason Kelly
Jason Kelly is a baseball coach and former player, who is the current head baseball coach of the Washington Huskies. He played college baseball for the Cal Poly Mustangs, the Cuesta Cougars and the Missouri Valley Vikings. Playing career Kelly grew up in Santa Maria, California, where he attended St. Joseph High School. As a junior at St. Joseph, Kelly posted a 14–0 record with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.45, and recorded 107 strikeouts in 87 innings pitched, earning him ''Santa Maria Times'' All-Area MVP. Kelly enrolled at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he played baseball for the Mustangs. As a freshman in 1999, Kelly pitched to a 3–1 record, a 7.91 ERA. and 30 innings pitched. In his second season, he redshirted. For the 2001 season, Kelly transferred to Cuesta College, where he pitched for the Cougars' head coach, Larry Lee. Mission College (Mission or MC) is a public community college in Santa Clara, California. It is part of the West Valley–Mission Community College District. The land the college is on was bought between 1966 and 1967. Mission College opened for its first year in 1975. In 1979 it had grown to "3,500 students, 8 administrators, and 73 instructors". Hi Corbett Field is a baseball park in the southwestern United States, located in Tucson, Arizona. With a seating capacity of approximately 9,500, it was the spring training home of the Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball, and is currently home to the University of Arizona Wildcats of the Pac-12 Conference. Venue history and statistics First teams played at the field in 1937. Hi Corbett Field was originally called Randolph Municipal Baseball Park. In 1951, it was renamed in honor of Hiram "Hi" Stevens Corbett (1886–1967), a former Arizona state senator who was instrumental in bringing spring training to Tucson, specifically by convincing Bill Veeck to bring the Cleveland Indians to Tucson in 1947. 2023 Arizona Wildcats Baseball Team
The 2023 Arizona Wildcats baseball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats played their home games for the 12th season at Hi Corbett Field. The team was coached by Chip Hale in his 2nd season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 8th in the Pac-12, but advanced to the final of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament losing to Oregon 4–5. The Wildcats were selected into the NCAA tournament for the 3rd straight year for the first time since 2010–12. The 2023 Oregon State Beavers baseball team represented Oregon State University in the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. Jackie Robinson Stadium is a college baseball park in Los Angeles, California. It is the home field of the UCLA Bruins of the Pac-12 Conference. Opened in 1981, it is the smallest ballpark in the conference, with a seating capacity of 1,820. It is named after former Bruin athlete Jackie Robinson, the first African-American major league baseball player of the modern era. Robinson (1919–1972) attended UCLA from 1939 to 1941, after graduating from Pasadena Junior College. Joe Etzel Field
Joe Etzel Field is a 1,300 seat baseball stadium in Portland, Oregon that is home to the University of Portland Pilots baseball team. Originally named Pilot Field, it was renamed after former coach Joe Etzel in 2004. Completed in 2005, the Andy Pienovi Hitting Facility is the baseball team's practice facility. It is located in foul territory in left field. Preliminary campus expansion plans include moving the baseball field from its current location to one down on the waterfront in the Triangle Park property. Those plans were abandoned in 2013 with plans to instead renovate the existing stadium. The school has since added artificial turf and lighting.
