Jason Kelly
Jason Kelly is a baseball coach and former player, who is the current head baseball coach of the Washington Huskies. He played college baseball for the Cal Poly Mustangs, the Cuesta Cougars and the Missouri Valley Vikings. Playing career Kelly grew up in Santa Maria, California, where he attended St. Joseph High School. As a junior at St. Joseph, Kelly posted a 14–0 record with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.45, and recorded 107 strikeouts in 87 innings pitched, earning him ''Santa Maria Times'' All-Area MVP. Kelly enrolled at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he played baseball for the Mustangs. As a freshman in 1999, Kelly pitched to a 3–1 record, a 7.91 ERA. and 30 innings pitched. In his second season, he redshirted. Washington Huskies Baseball
The Washington Huskies baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball team of the University of Washington, located in Seattle, Washington, United States. The program has been a member of the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference since the start of the 1960 season, preceded by the Pacific Coast Conference. The team has played at Husky Ballpark since 1998; the on-campus venue was renovated extensively for the start of the 2014 season. Jason Kelly has been the program's head coach since the start of the 2023 season. The program has appeared in nine NCAA Tournaments. It has won two Pac-10 North-South Division Playoffs, six Pac-10 North Division Titles, eight PCC North Division Titles, and two PCC Regular Season Championships. Larry Lee (baseball)
Larry Patrick Lee (born December 12, 1959) is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as the head coach of the Cal Poly Mustangs baseball team. He began this job prior to the 2003 season. Playing career After graduating from San Luis Obispo High School in 1979, Lee played at two junior colleges, Santa Barbara City College in 1980 and Orange Coast College and 1981, before using his final two years of eligibility at Pepperdine. He then played briefly as a professional, appearing with the Class-A Utica Blue Sox in 1983. Coaching career Lee coached for sixteen years at Cuesta College, a community college in San Luis Obispo, California. He was named head coach at Cal Poly, also in San Luis Obispo, to replace Ritch Price, the school's first Division I coach, with the official announcement of his introduction taking place on July 22, 2002. A cuesta (from Spanish ''cuesta'' "slope") is a hill or ridge with a gentle slope on one side, and a steep slope on the other. In geology the term is more specifically applied to a ridge where a harder sedimentary rock overlies a softer layer, the whole being tilted somewhat from the horizontal. 2023 NCAA Division I Baseball Season
The 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, begins on February 17, 2023. Tracy Smith (baseball)
Tracy Smith (born February 14, 1966) is an American baseball coach and former player, who is the current head baseball coach of the Michigan Wolverines. He played college baseball at Miami (OH) from 1985 to 1988 for head coach Jon Pavlisko, before pursuing a professional career from 1988 to 1990. He then served as the head coach of the Miami RedHawks (1997–2005), the Indiana Hoosiers (2006–2014) and the Arizona State Sun Devils (2015–2021). Smith was the head coach of Indiana from 2006 to 2014, during which time the Hoosiers appeared in three NCAA Tournaments, advancing to the College World Series once.
