2023 Super Rugby Aupiki Season
The 2023 Super Rugby Aupiki season was the second season of Super Rugby Aupiki (known as Sky Super Rugby Aupiki for sponsorship reasons), a professional women's rugby union club competition organised by New Zealand Rugby. The competition ran from 25 February 2023when Hurricanes Poua and Chiefs Manawa played the opening match in Levinto 25 March 2023. The tournament was won by Matatū, who defeated Chiefs Manawa 33–31 in the final in Hamilton, earning them their first Super Rugby Aupiki title. That match also resulted in the Chiefs Manawa's first-ever loss in the two-year-old competition. Competition format The competition featured four teams, who each played three regular season matches and two play-off matches. A total of ten matches were played over five weeks. Rhiarna Ferris (born 27 June 1992) is a New Zealand rugby player. She played for the Black Ferns Sevens team internationally and competes for Hurricanes Poua in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition. Alana Bremner
Alana Bremner (born 10 February 1997) is a New Zealand rugby union player. She plays for Matatū in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition and for Canterbury provincially. She also represents New Zealand internationally and was a member of their 2021 Rugby World Cup champion squad. Rugby career 2020 Bremner had a breakthrough season in 2020, she led her side to their fourth consecutive Farah Palmer Cup title and was the leading try scorer for the season with eight tries. Bremner was the first woman to play 50 matches for Lincoln University, and earned 50 caps for Canterbury. Kendra Reynolds (born January 25, 1993) is a New Zealand rugby union player. She plays Flanker for New Zealand and was a member of their champion 2021 Rugby World Cup squad. Levin Domain, also known as Courtesy Domain, is a cricket and rugby union ground in Levin, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. The first recorded cricket match held on the ground came in 1966 when Horowhenua played Southern Hawke's Bay in the 1965/66 Hawke Cup. Tenika Willison (born 7 December 1997) is a New Zealand rugby sevens player. She plays for Chiefs Manawa in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition. She also plays for the Black Ferns sevens internationally and won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Rugby career Rugby sevens Willison debuted for the Black Ferns Sevens side in 2016. Hazel Tubic
Hazel Tubic (born 31 December 1990) is a New Zealand-based rugby union player. She represents New Zealand internationally and was a member of their 2017 and 2021 Rugby World Cup champion sides. Dhys Faleafaga
Dhys Faleafaga (born 17 October 2000) is a New Zealand rugby union and sevens player. She plays for Chiefs Manawa in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition and for Wellington provincially. She has played for the Black Ferns and the Black Ferns Sevens internationally. Personal life Faleafaga attended St Mary's College and played for their First XV.
