Hazel Tubic
Hazel Tubic (born 31 December 1990) is a New Zealand-based rugby union player. She represents New Zealand internationally and was a member of their 2017 and 2021 Rugby World Cup champion sides. She plays for Chiefs Manawa in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition. Rugby career 2011–2017 Tubic made her test debut for the Black Ferns in 2011 against England. She has also represented New Zealand in rugby sevens. She was named in the squad for the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. 2022–2023 Tubic was named in the Chiefs squad for the inaugural season of Super Rugby Aupiki in 2022. She was called in as an injury replacement for the Black Ferns squad to the 2022 Pacific Four Series. In August, she was recalled into the team for the two-test series against Australia for the Laurie O'Reilly Cup. Tubic made the Black Ferns 32-player squad for the 2021 Rugby World Cup. Chiefs Manawa
The Chiefs Manawa (officially called the Waitomo Chiefs Manawa for sponsorship reasons) are a New Zealand women's professional rugby union team based in Hamilton, New Zealand that competes in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition. Chiefs Manawa won the inaugural season of the Super Rugby Aupiki competition. They went undefeated throughout the season and beat the Blues Women 35–0 in the final round to claim the title. History Historic clash The Chiefs and Blues women created history when they clashed in the first-ever women's Super Rugby match in New Zealand on 1 May 2021. The game was hosted by the Blues at Eden Park and was played as a double header before the Round 10 Super Rugby Aotearoa match between their men's teams. Australia Women's National Rugby Union Team
The Australia women's national rugby union team, also known as the Wallaroos, has competed at all Women's Rugby World Cups since 1998, with their best result finishing in third place in 2010. Australian women have been playing rugby since the late 1930s, in regional areas of New South Wales. In 1992 the first National Women's Tournament was held in Newcastle, NSW. Black Ferns
The New Zealand women's rugby union team, called the Black Ferns, represents New Zealand in women's international rugby union, which is regarded as the country's national sport. The team has won six out of nine Women's Rugby World Cup tournaments. They have an 85 per cent winning record in Test match rugby, and are the only women's international side with a winning record against every opponent. Since their official international debut in 1990, the Black Ferns have lost to only four of the sixteen nations they have played against. 2024 Super Rugby Aupiki Season
The 2024 Super Rugby Aupiki season will be the third season of Super Rugby Aupiki. The competition is expected to run from 2 March 2024 to 13 April 2024. Chiefs Manawa and Hurricanes Poua will kick off the season at the FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton. Competition format The competition will begin with a four-week pre-season that will feature two matches. The season is then expected to officially start on 2 March with six weeks of round robin matches before the final is contested between the top two teams. There will be a mix of standalone fixtures and double-headers with their Super Rugby Pacific counterparts. 2022 Laurie O'Reilly Cup
The 2022 Laurie O'Reilly Cup was the 13th edition of the competition. The matches were played on 20 and 27 of August, with both Australia and New Zealand hosting one match each. After a two year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was confirmed that the competition would return. The first test was played in Christchurch at the Orangetheory Stadium on 20 August 2022. The second test was played in a curtain raiser to the Wallabies and Springboks test in Adelaide on 27 August 2022. The Black Ferns won the first test in Christchurch with an overwhelming 52–5 score and retained the O'Reilly Cup. They won the series after winning the second test in a hard-fought match, the game ended 14–22. 2022 Pacific Four Series
The 2022 Pacific Four Series was the second edition of the Pacific Four Series. The competition was hosted by New Zealand from 6 to 18 June. Matches were played at two of the venues which will host the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup – The Trusts Arena in West Auckland and the Semenoff Stadium in Whangārei. New Zealand won their first series title after defeating the United States 50–6 in the final round.
