2023 South American U-15 Championship
The 2023 South American U-15 Championship will be the 10th edition of the South American U-15 Championship ( es, CONMEBOL Sudamericano Sub-15), the biennial international youth football championship organised by CONMEBOL for the men's under-15 national teams of South America. CONMEBOL initially planned to hold the championship in Bolivia between 17 November to 3 December 2023, but on 16 October 2023 it was announced that the tournament would be postponed to 2024 due to unforeseen circumstances. The South American U-15 Championship returns after 4 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced CONMEBOL to cancel the tournament in 2021. Brazil are the defending champions. Teams All ten CONMEBOL member national teams entered the tournament. Moreover, invited teams from UEFA are to be confirmed. The 2019 South American Under-15 Football Championship was the 9th edition of the South American Under-15 Football Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the CONMEBOL for the men's under-15 national teams of South America. The tournament was originally to be held in Bolivia between 23 November and 8 December 2019. However, on 8 November 2019, CONMEBOL announced the tournament would be moved to Paraguay due to the 2019 Bolivian protests. The defending champions are Argentina. Estadio Ramón "Tahuichi" Aguilera Costas is a multi-purpose stadium in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. It is used mostly for football matches, on club level by Blooming, Oriente Petrolero, Destroyers, and Royal Pari. The stadium has a capacity of 38,000 people and was opened in 1940. It was also one of the official stadiums for the 1997 Copa America as well as a number of international continental tournaments, such as the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. The 2019 Bolivian protests, also known as the Pitita Revolution (), were protests and marches from 21 October 2019 until late November of that year in Bolivia, in response to claims of electoral fraud in the 2019 general election of 20 October.
