2023 Six Nations Championship
The 2023 Six Nations Championship (known as the Guinness Six Nations for sponsorship reasons) was the 24th Six Nations Championship, an annual rugby union competition contested by the national teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. It was the 129th edition of the competition (including all its previous incarnations as the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship). France entered the tournament as defending champions, having won the Grand Slam in 2022. Ireland won the tournament for a 15th time, along with a 13th Triple Crown and a fourth Grand Slam; it was also the first time they won the title in Dublin. In beating England in their final game on 18 March, Ireland completed a full set of consecutive victories over all the other tier-one international sides. Thomas Ramos (rugby Union)
Thomas Ramos (born 23 July 1995) is a French rugby union player, who plays as a full-back and fly-half for Toulouse in the Top 14. International career In November 2017, Ramos was selected for the French Barbarian team which played and beat the Māori All Blacks 19–15. Owen Farrell
Owen Andrew Farrell (born 24 September 1991) is an English professional rugby union player, currently captain of Gallagher Premiership side Saracens. Farrell has played international rugby for England since 2012. Farrell is one of the top points scorers in test history, having scored over 1000 points from over 100 tests. His father is Andy Farrell, who played both rugby league and rugby union for England and is the current head coach of Ireland. His preferred position is fly-half, but he often plays at inside centre for England during international matches. Murrayfield Stadium (known as BT Murrayfield Stadium for sponsorship reasons, or popularly as Murrayfield) is a Rugby stadium located in the Murrayfield area of Edinburgh, Scotland. It has a seating capacity of 67,144 making it the largest stadium in Scotland and the fifth largest in the United Kingdom. Michele Lamaro
Michele Lamaro (born 3 June 1998) is an Italian professional rugby union player who primarily plays flanker for Benetton of the United Rugby Championship. He has also represented Italy at international level, having made his test debut against France during the Autumn Nations Cup. Lamaro has previously played for clubs such as Primavera, Lazio, and Petrarca in the past. Gianluca, Lamaro's father, competed for Italy in sailing at the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988. He was raised ten minutes from Stadio Olimpico and is a native of Rome. Lamaro played for Primavera in his brother's footsteps before gaining a transfer to Lazio and later Petrarca. Kieran Crowley
Kieran James Crowley (born 31 August 1961) is a New Zealand rugby union coach and former player, who is the head coach of Italy. He has also coached the New Zealand Under-19s in the 2007 World Championships as well as coaching provincial side Taranaki. He previously served as head coach of Canada. He also spent five seasons coaching Benetton Rugby. He is a former member of the New Zealand All Blacks where he played as a fullback. Early life Crowley was born in Kaponga, New Zealand. Stadio Olimpico
The Stadio Olimpico (English: ''Olympic Stadium'') is the largest sports facility in Rome, Italy, seating over 70,000 spectators. It is located within the Foro Italico sports complex, north of the city. The structure is owned by the Italian National Olympic Committee and it is used primarily for association football. The Stadio Olimpico is the home stadium of the Roma and Lazio football clubs, and also hosts the Coppa Italia final. It was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it hosted the tournament final. Johnny Sexton
Jonathan Jeremiah Sexton (born 11 July 1985) is an Irish rugby union player who plays as a fly-half for Leinster Rugby and Ireland, and he also captains both teams. Aviva Stadium (also known as Lansdowne Road) is a sports stadium located in Dublin, Ireland, with a capacity for 51,700 spectators (all seated). It is built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007, and replaced it as home to its chief tenants: the Irish rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland football team.
