2023 Oslo Cup
The 2023 Oslo Cup was held from August 31 to September 3 at the Snarøya Curling Club in Oslo, Norway. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of NOK 112,000 on the men's side and NOK 88,000 on the women's side. It was the first event of the 2023–24 Nordic Curling Tour. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. 2022 Oslo Cup
The 2022 Oslo Cup was held from September 2 to 4 at the Snarøya Curling Club in Oslo, Norway. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of NOK 112,000 on the men's side and NOK 88,000 on the women's side. It was the first time the event has been held in ten years. On the men's side, Niklas Edin and his Swedish rink of Oskar Eriksson, Rasmus Wranå, and Christoffer Sundgren capped off an undefeated tournament by beating Norway's Steffen Walstad 5–2 in the championship final. Both teams finished the round robin with a perfect 4–0 record and each won their quarterfinal and semifinal matches. It was the first event title for Team Edin of the 2022–23 season as they missed the playoffs at the 2022 Baden Masters, which Team Walstad won. In the third place game, Norway's Magnus Ramsfjell scored six in the first end to beat Scotland's James Craik 6–0. Mark Robert James Watt (born 29 July 1996) is a Scottish cricketer. He made his Twenty20 International debut against Ireland on 18 June 2015. He made his List A debut in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 31 July 2015 against Nepal. On 5 February 2016 he took his first five-wicket haul in a T20I match, picking up five wickets for 27 runs against the Netherlands in the UAE. James Craik (curler)
James Craik (born 13 June 2001) is a Scottish curler from Edzell and Stirling. Career Juniors As a junior curler, Craik is a three-time Scottish national champion and three-time World Junior medallist. He and his rink won gold at the 2022 World Junior Curling Championships. He also won a gold medal at the 2023 Winter World University Games. In 2019, he won his first Scottish Junior title, throwing second for the Ross Whyte rink. The team represented Scotland at the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships, where they went undefeated in the round robin, finishing with a 9–0 record. In the playoffs however, they lost to Switzerland in the semifinal, but rebounded to beat Norway in the bronze medal game. The following season, Craik won the Scottish junior title again, this time skipping his own team of Mark Watt, Blair Haswell and Niall Ryder. Romano Meier (born 14 April 1995 in Baden) is a Swiss curler from Ehrendingen. He currently plays second on Team Michael Brunner. Career Juniors In 2012, Meier represented Switzerland for the first time internationally at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics. The team also included Michael Brunner, Elena Stern and Lisa Gisler. The team finished the round robin with a 6–1 record and then won all three of their playoff games to secure the gold medal.
