2023 Magyar Kupa Final
The 2023 Magyar Kupa final decided the winners of the 2022–23 Magyar Kupa, the 80th season of Hungarian premier football cup, the Magyar Kupa. The match was played on 3 May 2023 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest between Budafoki MTE, Budafok and Zalaegerszegi TE, Zalaegerszeg. Zalegerszeg won the match 2–0 securing their first Magyar Kupa title with scoring the goals in the last minutes of the extra time. Background Zalaegerszeg made its second Magyar Kupa final appearance in history, having lost in 2010 Magyar Kupa Final, 2010. For Budafok, this was their first final appearance, additionally the first second division team to reach the final since 2012 Magyar Kupa Final, 2012. Puskás Aréna
Puskás Aréna is a Soccer-specific stadium, football stadium in the Zugló, 14th district (Zugló) of Budapest, Hungary. The stadium's construction started in 2017 and was finished before the end of 2019. It is an all-seater with a capacity of 67,215. The Hungarian Football Federation meets all UEFA and FIFA stadium requirements, and was awarded 4-stars by the UEFA. The 2022–23 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2022–23 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, is the 124th season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. Ferencváros were the defending champions. As the 2022 FIFA World Cup started on 20 November, the last round before stoppage was held on 12–13 November. The league resumed games on 28 January. History Kisvárda FC, later known as Várda SE, was founded in 1911 as ''Kisvárdai Sport Egyesület (KSE)''.
