2023 Helvetic Guards Season
The 2023 Helvetic Guards season is the inaugural season of the newly founded Helvetic Guards in the European League of Football for the 2023 season. Preseason After the Guards were unveiled at a press conference, the franchise began to organize itself for their first season. On October 30, 2022 the front office announced that they will play their home games in the Lidl Arena in Wil, Switzerland, about 25 miles (40km) eastern of Zürich. As the first head coach of the franchise, former NFL Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow was presented. With the signings of Collin Hill and 2014 Baylor Bears football team standout Silas Nacita, the franchise recruited standout players in Europe. Notable homegrown signings were of Philipp Leimgruber, former Schwingen player. Norm Chow
Norman Yew Heen Chow (born May 3, 1946) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach for the Helvetic Guards in the European League of Football. He was the head football coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a position he held from December 2011 until November 2015 and previously held the offensive coordinator position for the Utah Utes, UCLA Bruins, the NFL's Tennessee Titans, USC Trojans, NC State Wolfpack, and BYU Cougars.Chris FosterUCLA hires Norm Chow as offensive coordinator ''Los Angeles Times'', January 21, 2008. Stadion Bergholz
Lidl Arena (until 2013 and from 2019 to 2022: Stadion Bergholz; from 2013 to 2019: IGP Arena) is located in the city of Wil in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen and is the home ground of the football club FC Wil and the Heveltic Guards. 2023 European League Of Football Season
The 2023 ELF season is the third season of the European League of Football, a professional American football league based in Europe. Seventeen teams from nine different countries will participate and will compete for the title at the Championship Game in the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena Duisburg, Germany on September 24, 2023. Format The teams are divided into three conferences of 5 or 6 teams. Each team plays 12 games during the regular season. The winner of each conference, as well as the next best 3 teams, regardless of conference, qualify for the playoffs. Teams 11 of the 12 teams from the 2022 season are competing in 2023, and are joined by 6 new expansion teams: Fehérvár Enthroners, Helvetic Guards, Milano Seamen, Munich Ravens, Paris Musketeers and Prague Lions. He is a double transfer and played college football at Colorado State as well as South Carolina. The 2014 Baylor Bears football team represented Baylor University in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bears were coached by Art Briles. (from German ' "to swing"), also known as Swiss wrestling (French ') and natively (and colloquially) as ' (Swiss German for "breeches-lifting"), is a style of folk wrestling native to Switzerland, more specifically the pre-alpine parts of German-speaking Switzerland.
