2023 HJK Season
The 2023 season was Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi's 115th competitive season. HJK entered the Veikkausliiga season as three time defending champions. In Europe, HJK qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage. After four years at the helm, Manager Toni Koskela was replaced by Toni Korkeakunnas mid-season. Season Events On 27 December 2022, Anthony Olusanya extended his contract with HJK until the end of the 2025 season. On 4 January, David Ezeh signed a new contract with HJK until the end of the 2025 season. On 10 January, Francis Etu signed a three-year contract with HJK. On 12 January, HJK extended the loan-deal with Helsingborgs for Lucas Lingman until the end of the season. On 14 January, HJK announced the singing of Georgios Kanellopoulos to a two-year contract, with an option of a third year, from Asteras Tripolis. Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (), commonly known as HJK Helsinki, or simply as HJK, is a professional football club based in Helsinki, Finland. The club competes in the Finnish Veikkausliiga. Founded in 1907, the club has spent most of its history in the top tier of Finnish football. The club's home ground is the 10,770-seat Bolt Arena, where they have played since 2000. Generally considered as Finland's biggest club, HJK is the most successful Finnish club in terms of championship titles with 32. The club has also won 14 Finnish Cups and 5 Finnish League Cups. The 2022 season was Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi's 114th competitive season. HJK qualified for the UEFA Europa League and won the Veikkausliiga for the third consecutive season. IFK Mariehamn is an Ålandic football club based in Mariehamn, the capital of the Åland Islands. It plays in the Finnish Premier Division (''Veikkausliiga''). Samuel Anini (born 7 September 2002) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Veikkausliiga club Ekenäs IF. Dejan Iliev ( mk, Дејан Илиев; born 25 February 1995) is a Macedonian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for AS Trenčín. Helsingborgs IF (full name Helsingborgs Idrottsförening), commonly referred to as HIF (), is a Swedish professional football club located in Helsingborg. They play in the Swedish first tier, Allsvenskan, following promotion in the 2021 Superettan season via play-offs. Formed in 1907, the club has won five national championship titles and five national cup titles. Helsingborgs IF have also won Allsvenskan on two occasions when the title of Swedish champions was not decided by the outcome of that league. David Ezeh (born 13 February 2006) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a centre-forward for Ekstraklasa club Raków Częstochowa, on loan from HJK. Early life Ezeh was born in Helsinki to Finnish mother and Nigerian father from Imo State, and was raised in Puistola and Oulunkylä. Anthony Olusanya (born 1 February 2000) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Veikkausliiga club Haka, on loan from HJK.
