2022 HJK Season
The 2022 season was Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi's 114th competitive season. HJK qualified for the UEFA Europa League and won the Veikkausliiga for the third consecutive season. Season Events Prior to the start of the new year, and new league season, HJK announced the signings of Pyry Soiri from Esbjerg fB on 4 October, Joona Toivio from BK Häcken on 1 November, Murilo from SJK on 5 November, Arttu Hoskonen from Inter Turku on 8 November and Jukka Raitala from Minnesota United on 21 December. On 11 January, HJK announced the signing of Manuel Martic to a one-year contract, from Mezőkövesd. On 19 January, HJK announced the signing of Conor Hazard from Celtic, on loan for the season. The next day, 20 January, HJK announced the signing of Miska Ylitolva to a two-year contract, from RoPS. Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (), commonly known as HJK Helsinki, or simply as HJK, is a professional football club based in Helsinki, Finland. The club competes in the Finnish Veikkausliiga. Founded in 1907, the club has spent most of its history in the top tier of Finnish football. The club's home ground is the 10,770-seat Bolt Arena, where they have played since 2000. Generally considered as Finland's biggest club, HJK is the most successful Finnish club in terms of championship titles with 32. The club has also won 14 Finnish Cups and 5 Finnish League Cups. Conor William Hazard (born 5 March 1998) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for EFL Championship club Plymouth Argyle and the Northern Ireland national team. Jukka Raitala (born 15 September 1988) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays for Veikkausliiga club HJK. He usually plays as a left back in both his club side and the national team but can also operate as a right back or a central defender. Joona Toivio (born 10 March 1988) is a Finnish footballer who plays as a defender for Veikkausliiga club HJK. He has previously played for Klubi 04, AZ, Telstar, Molde, Djurgården, and Termalica Nieciecza.
